Investor Fuel Show Transcript:

Speaker 1 (01:31)
everyone, welcome to the Investor Fuel podcast. I am your host, Quentin Edmonds, better known as Q. Edmonds. And today I am joined by Simon Kine, who I’m chatting with and getting… ⁓

I’ve been looking forward to getting to know even better and looking forward for you to get to know even better. And that is my friend Stan Lucien, who’s been making some serious moves in the tech industry, in the tech space. Stan, I’m glad to have you here with me,

Speaker 2 (02:05)
Thanks for having me on the show.

Speaker 1 (02:08)
Absolutely, absolutely. think our listeners are really going to take away something from your approach, especially when it comes to the tech industry. I think you talked about how ⁓ you skimmer within the different things that you do. And so I really believe that that approach is going to help people kind of connect to maybe looking at things a little bit differently.

We don’t want to give them all the trade secrets away, right? But we’re going to let them know a little bit that can help them maybe grow their business or look at things a little differently. So let’s dive in. So first off, people who may not be familiar with the world, give us a short version of what your main focuses are these days.

Speaker 2 (03:00)
Well, the main focus of the company, right? Our main focus is to try and educate the next generation by ⁓ offering different different type of services. ⁓ So we have ⁓ and a part of the company that’s called Housing Skycast. So we and it’s it’s an animated educational series that we take. ⁓

complicated topics and trying to break them into content that easy for people to understand and process. That’s one of the things that we offered. We also offered ⁓ some kind of education like quizzes to make learning about the real estate fun and rewarding.

Speaker 1 (03:50)
Beautiful. What market are you in right now?

Speaker 2 (03:54)
So we in the prop tech, prop tech, ed tech, and media ed tech. So those are the market that we actually in right now.

Speaker 1 (04:02)
Got you, got you. Absolutely, absolutely. I love it. I love it. What caught my attention about you was the way you’ve been able to again incorporate laughter and humor in what you do. know, I am a person, I love humor, and I’m always trying to connect with people and get them to be comfortable and relaxed and to see the fun side of things.

You know, I really appreciate that. Listen, and I know it’s not easy in the climate that you’re in. What’s been like the thing that’s been keeping the machine running? What keeps your business going?

Speaker 2 (04:44)
⁓ I will say hope to be honest. it’s hope to help the next generation, hope to educate people, hope to help people make better decisions. That’s what’s keeping the company running.

Speaker 1 (05:50)
Yeah. man. I love that man. Man. Hope. Hope is a very, powerful tool. If you have hope, it will literally change your perspective on things. Just as long as you have hope. Hope that no, they believe that things are going to turn around. Hope to believe that things are going to be powerful. So yeah. Hope is a ⁓ tremendous thing. I appreciate you bringing that up. ⁓

Now every operator I know has a moment where things get real, right? Maybe business don’t go the way you expected it to, things can go sideways. So tell me what’s the time within your business that you had to pivot and you had to pivot fast.

Speaker 2 (06:36)
Well, when I first ⁓ started putting brakes together, I started building a company. So how it is, you you got to try and find what’s the people’s pain, you know, and that’s the best way to go about it. So once you understand the pain, that’s when you can offer the solution, you know, to help solve ⁓ the problem. Right. The again, one of the pain that I’m one of the. ⁓

issue that I faced while I was building the company is to try and find market fit. By that, mean that when you’re building something new, you don’t really have nobody else or no other company to copy from. The only thing can really go off is the data or the feedback that you got from your consumers or from people that’s interested in your products. So when I first launched the

the solution for skyways, then I had to pivot real quick, you know, to see what’s interesting about the people. What I mean, what, what the people want to learn or what the people’s interested about what I’m offering. So I can switch it to something that they really want, which is humor. You know, people learn better when they having fun, you know, when, when, the brain is at peace, you know, that’s that there’s no better way for you to learn. People do not learn.

You want to learn when things are amusing, know what I mean? When there is fun. So that’s why we introduced the ⁓ housing chronicles and Skycast, a way to teach people so they can learn, making learning fun and rewarding.

Speaker 1 (08:17)
Yeah, man. You know you keep talking about that fun part. Like, you know, that’s that I’m a smile every time you say that. So that I love that man. And really, that’s the kind of stuff people can’t talk about enough right now. Right. And honestly, it’s what separates the folks from kind of just just dabbling and just doing things a stiff way to people who kind of can build the humor. And I believe humor because laughter

what I like to say is good for the soul. It will kind of keep you in the game kind of long term, right? If you can make somebody laugh, make somebody feel good. I think it’s Maya Angelou that said, people won’t remember what you said, but they’ll remember how you made them feel. ⁓ Right? So yeah, so that’s, that’s, that’s a good thing. So, so let me ask you this. What, what are you most focused on? Like what problem that you’re most focused on solving or

Like what’s the next like scaled up opportunity or next scale up thing that you’re trying to do. What’s the next scale that you’re trying to do in your business.

Speaker 2 (09:19)
The problem I’m trying to solve, it’s simple. It’s trying to solve the, man, I wish I knew that to, I’m glad I know that. No, can make a better decision. That’s a big difference. What do I mean by that? Look, for myself, I wish I knew I could buy a multi-unit as my first property, you know, but I found out that I could have done that after I bought my first property. So we’re trying to solve that problem. We’re trying to be a place where people can come and learn that it can do that.

before the act, you know, so they can be like, you know what, I’m glad I learned that and I can make a better decision. So that’s one of the problems that we try and solve.

Speaker 1 (09:58)
Absolutely. There you go. Educating the people. think you mentioned that.

Speaker 2 (10:02)
knowledge you

Speaker 1 (10:05)
You took, I was gonna take your line, but you took the line from me as I was about to take your line. Cause I was gonna say transfer the knowledge. So that’s good man, transfer the knowledge man. Absolutely. How many, how many properties have you bought so far?

Speaker 2 (10:55)
So currently right now I have four properties. One multi-unit and then two symbols.

Speaker 1 (11:05)
That’s beautiful, man. That’s beautiful, man. That’s big, when you already got property, you already have things in place, right? But you’re still trying to transfer the knowledge. So, I mean, that’s awesome, man. That’s awesome. what’s the next? Well, let me say it like this. The next move can be the compound things or it can create chaos. And it depends on how you play it.

A lot of people are listening, right? And they’re early on their journey and some of them are looking to level up, some of are looking to buy property and looking to make moves. And I think they can benefit from hearing you and your insight. But when it comes to building relationships and growing your network, what makes the biggest difference for you?

I don’t know if it was a mic or a mic.

Speaker 2 (11:58)
Yeah, I’m sorry, can you repeat that for me?

Speaker 1 (12:00)
No problem. That’s simplified. What makes the biggest difference for you, especially within your network, growing your network? What would make the biggest difference for you?

Speaker 2 (12:12)
What will make a big difference for me will be able ⁓ to be honest, not just my network. I want to explain that further. It’s ⁓ again, it’s to teach people. That’s kind of what will make a difference for me. I’d rather be remembered as somebody that teach people rather than somebody that have a big network. I’m not interested in networking and meet people. Even with networking, I will be more interested in

learning from someone and also teaching them something that I think that would be the most important thing for me when it comes to networking. But my primary focus is to really teach people, find a way to teach them, find a way for them to be able to learn better. That’s kind of what like stick to me. I’m sorry.

Speaker 1 (13:01)
No, no, what you apologizing for? No, sir. No, that’s absolutely good. Like you can’t fake that. Like relationships is everything, you know? And so you can’t fake that. So ⁓ transferring knowledge, teaching people, being honest, hope. Bro, I hear your message, man. I hear your message. I hear you want to connect with the people and I hear it very, very clearly. And you want to lead with integrity and you want to lead with…

something tangible that people can hold on to at the end of the day. So now I hear it brother. I hear it loud and clear man. hear it loud and clear. So listen man, this has been flowing very well. ⁓ Before we wrap, if someone wanted to reach out to you or connect with you or maybe collaborate or maybe want to get some of that knowledge transfer, what’s the best way that they can reach out to you man?

Speaker 2 (13:55)
Well, they can easily go on on Lincoln and find me on Lincoln. It’s, you know, staying loose and they will be able to find me on Lincoln, me an invite or connection and I will gladly, you know, respond to that and then we can connect from there. And if they need any kind of services from our website, they can also contact the company through the contact form. And then a member of the team will reach out back to them and then, know, and then we can take it from there.

Speaker 1 (14:19)
Absolutely, perfect man. Perfect man. Well, listen, listen, I appreciate your time. I appreciate your story. I appreciate your perspective. mean, really, we need more people in this space like you that’s doing it the right way. That’s leading with humility. That’s talking about hope. That’s talking about honesty. So I really appreciate you staying for being here. Thank you so much for giving us your time,

Speaker 2 (14:46)
Thank you so much for having me. It’s my pleasure for you to be in your show.
