well when I first started real estate, the first thing well my idea was let me go find the buyers first before I, start selling. Cause I don’t want to get the property under contract and then try to go find them. So the first thing I did was start looking for buyers in my city, then it expanded to Florida and then expanded to other parts of Tennessee and then it expanded just all over. And always we always have meetings once a month with each buyer, just to see what they working on and what they need, if they got anything updated. And there’s a key thing to keep me successful too, because I just built my own network first before I started.
Quentin Edmonds (02:05)

And so I’m excited for him to talk to you so we can look at business through his lens, learn from his experience. So I’m gonna introduce you all to Mr Bryson Rose. Mr. Bryson, how what it sir?
Bryson Rose (02:39)
I’m doing good.
Quentin Edmonds (02:40)
Good man, good man. Listen, brother, glad that you’re here. Thank you for giving us some of your time. I’ll reiterate this. I think time is our most precious commodity. So thank you. I value you for being here and giving us some of your precious time. and sir, I’m the type man. I like to dive right in. I would love for you to tell the people what’s your main focus these days. If you don’t mind, give us a little bit of an origin story, kind of how you got into this space that you’re in, and then tell us where you are in the world, man. So Mr. Bryson, sir, you got the floor, man.
Bryson Rose (03:07)
Okay. Well, my name Bryson Rose and how I started real estate. I tried everything. I worked in restaurants, I did warehouses. in my last job, I was a diesel mechanic and I was going through a hard time, My son was about to be born and I got laid off a day before my son was born. And we went that was a hard time, and it I didn’t people didn’t they didn’t let me know that I was gonna get laid off, which is at the blue. And I told myself, I said I would never work for anyone else, and I just started putting in that work, just started learning, Messed up a couple of times, failed, failed, failed, failed, and I just kept going. I just kept going, kept going, kept going. And yeah, got that one. I always told myself, I just get that one bite and I’m out of there and I got it. And Shot through the roof, I’ve been going ever since.
Quentin Edmonds (03:51)
Yeah, yeah. Love it, man. thank you, man. Thank you. Where you up where are you, brother?
Bryson Rose (03:55)
I’m in Memphis, Tennessee.
Quentin Edmonds (03:57)
It’s Tennessee. I love it, man. But I love how you talk about, you talked about you used the word failure. You talked about some things just didn’t work out. And I tell people all the time, failure is just fertilizer. That’s all it is, man. Failure is fertilizer. And if you put the seed in the fertilizer, and fertilizer sometimes, and you notice you up there in the country, that fertilizer, some of them just dung. you’re like, it’s poop, but it’s poop missed with dirt, and you put the seed in it starts to give us nutrients for things to grow. So I always say, you know, failure is fertilizing if you allow yourself to go through the stinky mess of transition. If you allow yourself to do it, on the other side of that is green pasture, on the other side of that could be fruit, on the other side of that could be trees. You’re like, so you gotta just allow yourself to go through it. And so I often say, Mr. Bryson, destiny has no wasted moments, right? we’re building on each part of the journey, right? we just said, we look from the failure, from the success. Throughout your transition, throughout your, business and gaining business acumen and business life, what has the journey taught you about yourself? What has it revealed to you? Has it made you more disciplined, more humble? talk to me about the journey and what is revealed to you.
Bryson Rose (05:52)
well the journey it showed me that sometimes when you growing and sometimes you gotta leave the past life alone. you can’t bring everyone with you. when you growing, some people just because you growing that don’t mean that they’re growing, And sometimes you just gotta lead a nip it in the bud right there and just go on because they always say, it’s lonely at the top. Yeah. And sometimes, yeah, it gets lonely, but sometimes you fail, but you gotta keep going. You gotta keep going. Don’t ever give up. Like where I came from, it was no hope, I’m from Memphis, Tennessee. it really see the crime on TV every day. And you see what’s going on in Memphis, Tennessee. But I was one of the statistics that’s made it out. And just just because of keep going. That’s all that’s all I did. Kept going. I knew it was always gonna be a better way. Yeah. And you always gotta be open to learn. Yeah. Yeah. And as far as like humble, I am, I’m very humble. I just told you, I’m really just now getting out of here. This is my first podcast, I was always secretive, But now I’m just trying to get my face out there because I have a knot of knowledge that I can give the people,
Quentin Edmonds (06:46)
I love it, man. you’ve been successful. you made the transition. You in, you got that one bite as you talked about. So you got that bite. And I would love to know that now that things are working. would love to know about some operational things, right? So what’s maybe one operational thing, one system that you’ve put into place that has really helped you be successful.
Bryson Rose (07:07)
we’re partnerships, just getting out there. when I first started, I was always nervous. I’m like, how am I gonna get on the phone with these people? I don’t even know what to say. And and I used to stutter a lot on the phone, but I get over time I got comfortable and it just rolled off the tongue, And just I could say one of the number one thing is like the partnerships. Like before you even get to selling or investing, go find you some good people that’s like you, that’s trying to be like you and Go meet them first, talk to them and see from different lenses and and always keep those connections, And and then I say another thing, when you doing real estate, the contracts, that’s one of the key things, like clauses that you put in them contracts, you can make it’s always to make a way with them clauses and them contracts. there was like my number one key thing is them contracts too, far as partnerships.
Quentin Edmonds (07:48)
Yeah, no, I love it. Definitely having the paperwork and closets tight mean everything. So no, yeah, yeah. no, absolutely, man. w what’s next for you, man? what’s the next real goal? what are you looking to solve a scale next, man?
Bryson Rose (08:02)
next, I’m really trying to get out there with spending just coaching. I guess wanna coach more people and because the knowledge that I got it could turn somebody that was just like me, that had zero dollars, they got laid off and and turned into, a hundred thousand their first year, or whatever, however. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Quentin Edmonds (08:18)
love that the the coaching aspect of it definitely so coaching that means to me you’re gonna be developing relationships right and so yeah I would love to know what’s your philosophy when it comes to building healthy relationships and what are some relationships that has been useful and helpful for you.
Bryson Rose (09:16)
well when I first when I first started real estate, the first thing well my idea was let me go find the buyers first before before I, start selling. Cause I don’t want to get the property under contract and then try to go find them. So the first thing I did was start looking for buyers in my city, then it expanded to Florida and then expanded to other parts of Tennessee and then it expanded like, just all over. And like always we always have meetings once a month with each buyer, just to see what they working on and what they need, if they got anything updated. And there’s a key thing to keep me successful too, because I just built my own network first before I started.
Quentin Edmonds (09:52)
yes, sir. No, I definitely hear that, man. What else, man? I’m I know I’ve been asking you questions, but maybe you came in here with a message on your mind. I want to make sure that people get this message. I want to make sure that, I land this this thought. I kind of want to open it up that if you add something that you can land it, because I just don’t want to leave, an old stone unturned. So is there a core message about you, a core message that you feel people need to know? Talk to me, Mr. Bryson, for something like that.
Bryson Rose (10:17)
well I’m very spiritual and the number one thing I can say is, put God first and always ask him for your guidance and he’ll turn your life around.
Quentin Edmonds (10:24)
Short and sweet, bro. I am with you, There’s a scripture I quote a little bit on here. I say, we make our plans, but he determined the outcome, right? So we plan, we work it’s all on us, but we pray like it’s all on him. what I mean? So it’s like, I’m gonna do whatever you put in my hands to do, but the outcome is all yours. But that don’t mean I’m not gonna be intentional. That don’t mean I’m not gonna work, that don’t mean I’m not gonna plan. But I do know the outcome is all you get the glory and so
Bryson Rose (10:49)
He knows the beginning, middle, and end.
Quentin Edmonds (10:51)
Alpha and Omega beginning the end. So you absolutely. And you said the middle. He got he covered it all. So
Bryson Rose (10:56)
No, man.
Quentin Edmonds (10:58)
he covered it all, man. That’s what I’m talking about, brother. Well, listen, man, I appreciate you coming on. I don’t think we said the name of the business. And so I’m not sure if you want to shout out the name so people know so we can have that thing ringing in the ears. Do you have a designated name, sir?
Bryson Rose (11:11)
Yes, it’s called Rose Funding and Acquisitions.
Quentin Edmonds (11:13)
Roles finding and acquisition, correct?
Bryson Rose (11:16)
Yes, sir.
Quentin Edmonds (11:16)
Love it, man. So listen, if if someone wanted to reach out to you, connect with you, collaborate with you, learn more about what you’re doing, how can they get in contact with you, man?
Bryson Rose (11:24)
I’m on LinkedIn, Bryson Rose. It’ll be a picture of me. You’ll see me with the glasses on. And my Instagram is @b_rosedaflippa. Rose like the last name. D A F L I P P A.
Quentin Edmonds (11:35)
Yeah, yeah. I love it, man. Well, listen, sir. I want to thank you, Bryson, for coming out, man. Let me say three things intentionally to you. One, thank you for your time. Time is our most precious commodity. Thank you for secondly, thank you for your story. But I even say like the gift of your integrity, the gift of your authenticity, the gift of your vulnerability, I would even say. I really believe our stories plant seeds for people. And we never know when the seed is gonna take root and grow, but the seed is there. And so thank you for coming and sprinkling some seeds, man. And lastly, man, thank you for your mindset. Thank you for the way you think and bringing that mindset to this platform, sir. Man, I really appreciate you coming on, man.
Bryson Rose (12:10)
