People are scared to talk about this That’s right. When you’re facing foreclosure and you’re facing bullshit, people are scared. I’m not afraid. I don’t care, man. God gave me a tongue and a mouth to speak, man. And I’m gonna talk. and I’m gonna put my business out there because if anybody’s interested, I’m nobody. I’m just Vinny. I’m just a little guy in this big pond trying to figure it out like everybody else, right? And I’m not afraid to let you know what happened to me.
Meghan Escobar (00:23)
Yeah.
Vinny Guidi (00:23)
Here the proof is can I flip this camera around? Is there any way I can just show you how the proof is in the pudding? Here they are. You see, these are all lawyer letters right here.
Meghan Escobar (02:05)
Hello everyone. Welcome back to Real Estate Pros Podcast, hosted by Investor Fuel. I am your host today, Meghan Escobar, and I have the pleasure of sitting down with an incredible,
person that I’ve had the opportunity to meet before getting on here, who has a story to tell for sure. And I am excited to have him on our platform to share his wisdom, his perspective, and his journey with you guys. And I truly believe he’ll walk away with some great insights on, where this individual has started, where he is now, and everything in between. So Vinny Guidi, welcome to Real Estate Pros Podcast.
Vinny Guidi (02:43)
Hi Meghan. Thank you for having me.
Meghan Escobar (02:45)
Absolutely. And Vinny is the owner and founder of Mylo Group Rentals LLC and we’ll talk a little bit more about that. But first and foremost, again, thank you for taking the time to be here.
Vinny Guidi (02:56)
Thank you. Thank you for having me.
Meghan Escobar (02:58)
Absolutely. And for those of those in the audience that might not be familiar, Vinny, with your name or Mylo Group Rentals, give us, a thirty thousand foot view of what your focus is.
Vinny Guidi (03:10)
just a little bit about myself, and about Mylo Group and how it really started. Like Mylo’s really my dog’s name and I built it’s weird how I started this Like I built this business around my dog’s name and I kinda created it that way. I don’t know why, but I figured that’s something I just did it. So yeah. That’s how I create came up with the with the name.
He came into my life and I looked at him and I was like, All right, through you maybe I’ll build an empire.
Meghan Escobar (03:39)
Wow. So the dog gave you motivation, was that
Vinny Guidi (03:42)
Pretty much, I think. Yeah, because it was weird. Like, I wanted to spend more time with my dog. Figure that out. I was working construction, I was getting up every day going to work, heavy highway construction, right? Wow. This is not too long ago. This was like 2007. Wow. So, he came in my life and I was just staring at him, I’m like, man, I just want to spend more time with this dude, man. How do I do that?
Meghan Escobar (04:02)
And so through that
Vinny Guidi (04:03)
Through that I ended up just making one investment. moved to Florida in 2010. And this is how let me let me let me start from the beginning. All right, this is how my whole journey started. And when I first met my wife in 2010, she was already involved with real estate. we got together, she takes me to Florida, she was like, Do you like it here? You wanna move here? I was like, absolutely. Got
been to taking the Disney World the first time, I fell in love, got hooked, moved to Florida, long story short, get here in 2012, and we started making some investments. And we had a few under our belt. And
Meghan Escobar (04:35)
When say a few, I think you’re being a little humble. Do you wanna tell us how many you had?
Vinny Guidi (04:39)
We ended up buying we first bought a one house, we bought it, we fixed it, we flipped it in a depressed market. We didn’t really make much money at the time. I think we made like maybe fifteen, twenty grand right in that twenty twelve era. And that’s when blah and I realized that’s when the big boys were going around, these big hedge funders were coming around the area with these big pre approval letters. buying these homes cash, blah, blah, blah.
So, we turned around, we fixed it, we flipped it really fast. And then we just started buying a few condos and we ended up with like five, six condos. We bought them really dirt cheap. When I mean dirt cheap for like maybe eight, nine grand a piece, right? They got really hit hard. And, fast forward to like when this when it really took off for me and how it really happened, it happened in 2017. Like when it really, took off. Like when I found my path and my journey to private money.
Mm, once I find myself,
my way to this gentleman that helped me out in the process, he, I started understanding about, private lending and all that stuff and how to use other people’s money. and then the BRRRR method came into the effect. how I buy something, rehab it, rent it out and all the other BS that comes behind that BRRRR method that everybody uses. So I started with that in 2017, and next thing I had like five, six condos, we ended up with 32 homes.
It was that rapid, that fast. And hence everything was going up. We started selling. we started liquidating some of our portfolio and
I always say in life, when life really hits hard and really hits home, then you have to realize certain things and what’s really more important in life is life more important, with materialistic things or is life more important having the one that you really love most dearly around you, right?
Meghan Escobar (07:11)
Yeah.
Vinny Guidi (07:11)
I realize what’s really there? What’s more?
And I understood that, my wife was more important to have around me than the real estate that I owned and controlled. That to me, that was more important. Yeah. so in twenty we found out she got terminally ill, with this disease called myeloby, but it’s like a weird freaking name that these doctors come up with and I started focusing on things like that.
I put my business up for sale. I started selling everything else, and then fast forward to 2025, and I still have 15 homes, under my belt. Now I’m leveraged out. I’m mortgaged out on all fifteen properties. Now, mind you, right? Let’s go back to twenty everybody remembers what happened in twenty with coronavirus. You’re keeping on the hind short, sort of short. Right. And then right after that, inflation kicks in. Great.
I’m looking at my portfolio going from like this number to this number, right? But then nobody told me what happens when it peaks here. And the reality and the hits the fan and it comes back to reality. And then when everything was up, how I had to meet the demand of inflation, right? Where I had to put all this burden on people that really couldn’t kind of like almost I would say maybe what happened to 08, because I really didn’t go through this in 08.
I started my journey, started after that.
How do I put all this money on these people? They couldn’t even afford to pay property, rents anymore. But they got to that point, but next thing I got two hurricanes, one empty unit, five empty units, shoulder surgery on the couch, holding, trying to hold empty units with all this money, cash not coming in, cash is going out. that’s not what I learned in my education through my through my journey. And before it,
Lawyers are just hammering me with all kinds of letters. And here they come, man. They were lining up. Like Robert Kiyosaki said, pirates with suits. Boy, they line up and they’re ready to take aim and blast you into the another world, right? But I fuck this. I ain’t gonna lay down to them or bow down to these dudes. First of all, they don’t even scare me. So I started understanding, like really fast. I had to figure out a move and figure out a strategy move, how I scaled from
2012 with a few properties, 2017 to 30 properties, 2025 to almost being foreclosed on 15 properties. How did all this happen in the last what 10 years? I think? I don’t even know. Right? How did it all come down? so I started
Meghan Escobar (09:33)
what do you think it is, Vinny, that’s kept you it’s kept you kind of pushing through because we talked a little bit about before we well we talked a lot before we got on here and you
Vinny Guidi (09:44)
not a quitter and I started understanding resilience. damn but I tell you education is crazy because if you would have if I would have just understood what that word meant maybe some years ago, maybe I could have did some really things different. But resilience is a really, strong word and something you really need to have in this because if I’m not resilient if I wasn’t resilient enough I could have just quit right. I I’m facing foreclosure like up the rear end. I mean I
Lawyers are coming and all this, but I didn’t get foreclosed. That’s the most important thing is that didn’t happen. And I’m about to get to that and how I managed to get navigate out of this whole thing. and I and I’m good. I’m gonna be even better, coming down the pipeline. But when you’re sitting here and you’re facing this dilemma and you’re in this journey all alone and you’re sitting there and it
and understanding resilience. And I was sitting in one of my units and I was getting it, trying to get this thing ready to get it on the market so I can get it liquidated fast, right? Yeah. And I wanted to quit. Like, just quit. Fucking say, man, fuck this. I don’t want to do this. nobody wants to help you. You’re all alone on this journey. Nobody cares. Everybody wants to kick you while you’re down an hour. You’re bleeding money like crazy. But I it didn’t happen.
my lender said, Man, get your ass up and get moving, boy. Cause you’re not a quitter. you’re survivor. So that’s
Meghan Escobar (10:56)
You say that, it’s pretty important. Do you think it’s pretty important to have, a solid team around you to
Vinny Guidi (11:02)
It is.
Meghan Escobar (11:02)
help you navigate? Yeah. What what’s made the biggest difference for you?
Vinny Guidi (11:06)
Like I said, if that support wasn’t there, man, I would have quit. And I we probably we wouldn’t be having this conversation. I would have just gave up. I would have gave up. I think that’s important, because it’s it it’s not like, we’ll we talk about this a lot, right? it not like my family was born into this,
I just happened to stumble into this
Meghan Escobar (11:25)
So is it safe to say that like, you self taught yourself how to get to, from a construction worker to
Vinny Guidi (11:32)
Yeah. I didn’t have Peter.
Meghan Escobar (11:33)
And you and your wife taken your combined knowledge and passion and then ended up with thirty-two rentals, things went south with health.
I wanna talk about that for a second too. Like, do you have any regrets, Vinny? Okay.
Vinny Guidi (11:48)
Do it all over again. That comes to my wife, I would do it all over again in a heartbeat. I don’t care. and I we talked about this, like what one of her medications, costs every month, man. I was dishing out like 30 G’s a month, man, just to keep this lady alive, man. And if I had to do it all over again to put these things up on the line, I don’t care. I’ll do it all over again. Cause I had like 15 or 18 units that I owned that I didn’t have a freaking mortgage. I was just paying taxes on these damn things.
my life was pretty much going in the direction I needed to go. Like I said, when you’re batting a thousand, you’re on this high horse, but when your ass gets knocked down, off that horse, you realize really fast. But if I had to do it all over again, I would.
Meghan Escobar (12:22)
Yeah. And another thing that I think is important to mention is well, first and foremost, these are the things that people don’t talk about enough, right? We live in this highlight world where it’s like you see the success, you’ve know,
Vinny Guidi (13:14)
People are scared to talk about this That’s right. When you’re facing foreclosure and you’re facing bullshit, people are scared. I’m not afraid. I don’t care, man. God gave me a tongue and a mouth to speak, man. And I’m gonna talk. and I’m gonna put my business out there because if anybody’s interested, I’m nobody. I’m just Vinny. I’m just a little guy in this big pond trying to figure it out like everybody else, right? And I’m not afraid to let you know what happened to me.
Meghan Escobar (13:37)
Yeah.
Vinny Guidi (13:38)
Here the proof is can I flip this camera around? Is there any way I can just show you how the proof is in the pudding? Here they are. You see, these are all lawyer letters right here.
Meghan Escobar (13:47)
Yeah.
Vinny Guidi (13:48)
I deal with this all day, every day, but I don’t hide from them. And I’m not gonna let me flip this thing around. And I’m not gonna hide from them because there’s no reason to hide from them. Just pick up and talk to them. They’re just people, they’re human beings like I am, is what I realized.
At first I was scared. I’m like, man, these guys are lining up, man, and it’s like frightening, right?
Meghan Escobar (14:07)
Yeah.
Vinny Guidi (14:08)
You’re in this abyss. This is a world spiraling out of control. but then at the same time, it’s like, man, they’re just humans, just like I am.
Meghan Escobar (14:14)
That’s right. They’re doing the job, right?
Vinny Guidi (14:15)
Yeah. They may be a little bit smarter than I am because they’re bankers, but it don’t bother me. Lawyers, whatever the hell don’t bother me.
Meghan Escobar (14:22)
Stay in their lane, man.
Vinny Guidi (14:23)
listen. All that, man, that’s valedictorian stuff to me, man. like I said, I just started picking up books and started reading. And that’s where it’s more that that’s where I’m kinda at right now. what I really understand about real estate and
it’s not necessarily, being in control of a big number of homes. you could control a thousand homes, right? You could be the owner of a thousand units, right? Thousand doors and you’re collecting all this money, right? But if you don’t have the education and the knowledge, if you don’t like teach yourself or figure this out, how to manage all this and be on top of it, all that disappear, man.
it don’t last.
It don’t last. So to me it’s all about the education,
Meghan Escobar (15:03)
For sure.
Vinny Guidi (15:04)
You really gotta like narrow down who you talk to,
Meghan Escobar (15:07)
And when it comes to like building relationships, I mean you’ve already expressed if it wasn’t for your lender, you would have gave up. But even beyond that, Vinny, I mean you’ve been in the game a long time. So like when it comes to building relationships and having the right people around you, or you hear the saying all the time, your network is your net worth, or all that. So like what’s made the biggest difference for you keeping the right people around you?
Vinny Guidi (15:28)
Just doing the right thing.
staying in touch, like not cause you’re facing adversity and hardship is just stay staying in communication, like talking. opening up I found I found in like life in journey within itself. If you and it doesn’t matter, I don’t know how many people are watching this personally to me it’s irrelevant. I don’t but it could be a million people watching.
Meghan Escobar (15:49)
We’ll hear it, right?
Vinny Guidi (15:50)
And this is me being real. If you want, believe me, believe me. If you don’t, I really don’t know, whatever. But I’m gonna talk tell you, man, I’m not afraid, but this is me, man. what do you wanna know, man? This is what I this is what how it happens, but I gotta let I have to open up more. instead of hiding, because if you hide it’s not gonna work. Meghan, that. Everybody know that, man. It doesn’t work.
Meghan Escobar (16:08)
Some people might not.
people might not, that’s education, right? We talked a lot about that. So I think that you’ve definitely shared some pretty valuable gems here with people that might be facing the same adversities or similar adversities and not
Vinny Guidi (16:23)
Maybe, I don’t know. People don’t talk. I’ve learned that they coon yourself in a bubble somewhere in the corner and you’re hiding and you like start crying. Man, I’ve cried, man. Yeah, I ain’t gonna I’m not gonna sit here and admit. I cry because I’m like, damn about to lose my whole my portfolio, but I’m like at the same time, like the hell with this I’m gonna sit here and cry about it for what? Let me do something about it.
Meghan Escobar (16:43)
Yeah.
And w what do you think it is that’s kind of kept you pushing through that? Pushing through like with that kind of mindset.
Vinny Guidi (16:49)
This is what I love to do. I love the excitement about all this man. And like I say, I didn’t get foreclosed. Let me let me get to this part, right? ‘Cause I got I love everything about it because real estate is all about strategies. a and there’s so many of right? And if you’re creative enough and you’re open minded enough, you can find the avenues and then you figure out how not to get your ass handed you. right? There’s a lot at the end of the tunnel somewhere.
And I started learning about subject-to. I put myself out there enough. I wasn’t giving up. I had all my for sale, but I ended up meeting another investor. Another investor. He buys a lot of units. Now we a year we’ve been working together. Greatest thing, greatest turnaround.
things like that. Mm-hmm. So I couldn’t have been, any more grateful than to sit there and I feel like I you have to go through these things. I don’t know, in order to get ahead more in life, right?
So, it
Sitting in that condo, and then I started, understanding about the subject-to strategy, right? Because I have all of these investor loans, right? And investor loans are not assumable. And everybody knows that The banks don’t want to hear that anymore today, right? After 08, they don’t want to hear nothing.
They’ll play the game, right? But there’s a thing called due-on clause there. But as long as they’ll get their money, they’ll like kind of like I figured that out also. So
Like I said, I figured out how this subject-to works. Got with this other gentleman. We’ve been working together for a year. Mm-hmm. He ended up taking all my portfolio. and then it happens, man. I mean, I’m not the only guy that’ll go through this. I mean, companies go through this stuff. you get the bailout and all of that. Yeah. and then it’s important what you do after, right?
Mm-hmm. That’s important. Now, did I fold the tents? No. Like I said, that word resilience kicked in. I still love what I do. I still have passion for what I do. I’m still involved with real estate. I’m still flipping. That’s what I’m doing now. If I want to be a landlord tomorrow, I’ll do that again. Yeah. it’s only up to me to decide if I want to start a portfolio of a hundred units, a thousand units again, or thirty, forty units, however many units I to own. Do I want to be a landlord again? Maybe.
Right now I just want to do some fixing and flipping, but I do want to start going into the commercial space business. And that’s where I’m focusing my attention to now. And, I just went through a lot of this stuff and I’m gonna start buying things up again. I just did a few deals. I already flipped three homes. So, I got another one on the market. it just the journey just continues, man. Cause you go through something, why stop?
that’s the beauty about this business. the journey can still go on.
Meghan Escobar (19:15)
Yeah. And it keeps on giving, right? Yeah.
Vinny Guidi (19:18)
Mm-hmm.
Meghan Escobar (19:19)
Beautiful. Well thank you so much for sharing, everything that you have. I think that people in this space need more people like yourself who are doing things the right way and being resilient and not giving up and finding a passion for it, right? I think that’s the biggest piece of it is knowing the
Vinny Guidi (19:35)
Love,
passion. If you don’t have the love and passion for this, like really, love this ’cause I put my hands on everything. Like I learned everything, right? I learned everything about plumbing. I learned everything about electrical. I learned everything about roofing. Yes. I learned these things. And how did I learn these things, man? I started getting with the guys that were trade, right? Who who’s the electrician, the licensed guy, right? I started working with him.
not necessarily getting I didn’t get paid from this guy, but what I got from him was education, right? How to run wires, right? Home runs, load leads and all that that has to do with electrical, right? With roofing, I got with a roofer, right? I’ve learned everything that has to do with roofing. If you get with the right people and you wanna learn something, just get with them, man. my life lessons wasn’t about getting rewarded or compensated.
like, I’m doing this work for you, helping you out, pay me today. Nah, man. Teach me what and I’ll take care of the rest. and that’s basically if you don’t have love, passion.
Meghan Escobar (20:29)
Yeah.
Vinny Guidi (20:30)
resilience, patience, discipline. That’s another big one, man. Patience and discipline, right? If you’re not patient enough and discipline enough in this game.
Meghan Escobar (20:38)
Yeah.
Vinny Guidi (20:38)
I think that’s more that’s just as big. when you’re facing foreclosure on fifteen homes, all of that matters.
Meghan Escobar (20:44)
Yeah, for sure.
Vinny Guidi (20:45)
resilience, patience, discipline, love, passion. Cause I could have easily quit. Meghan, I could have just said, man, the hell with this man, and I’m done, man. I’ll go work a nine to five job again.
Meghan Escobar (20:56)
Yeah.
Vinny Guidi (20:57)
Sometimes I wish I would have did that. Remember, I told you that, right? I would
Meghan Escobar (21:01)
Yeah.
Vinny Guidi (21:01)
have stayed doing that. I would have had my weekends off. I wouldn’t have to worry about anything. I wouldn’t have to worry about this. I wouldn’t have to worry about that. Mm-hmm.
but I love what I do.
And I’ll do it again.
Meghan Escobar (21:10)
That’s amazing stuff right there. So
Vinny Guidi (21:12)
I don’t know who’s on your podcast if there’s first time people. I’ve learned like you
Meghan Escobar (21:16)
We have a little bit of both, yeah, for sure. And that’s actually where I wanna lead this into just ’cause time purposes, right? We wanna keep within that frame. So before we do wrap up here, Vinny, if somebody wanted to reach out to you and learn more about, what you’re doing or potentially collab with you, what what’s the best way for them to reach you? Is there social media, is there an email, phone number? What would that
Vinny Guidi (21:36)
Hey, you can contact me on my phone number. text message me. You want my number? I’ll give you my number. Social media email me [email protected]. That’s my email address. on social media, I go by Options Traders 1018 because I trade the stock market. That’s not the only I do. I don’t even sleep at night anymore. I only sleep maybe an hour or two a day in my life. we get into that later.
727-420-6314. That’s my personal cell phone number. Text me, I’ll reach out back to you.
Meghan Escobar (22:06)
Okay.
Vinny Guidi (22:08)
this is like I said, I there’s a lot of people that have done, there’s more in your podcast, there’s people that are way advanced, and then there’s the beginner. I
Meghan Escobar (22:16)
That’s right.
Vinny Guidi (22:17)
care about the beginner, right?
Meghan Escobar (22:19)
Sure thing. Sure thing. All right, perfect. And we’ll be sure to Yeah. And we’ll be sure to have those links listed below.
