Robyn Cavallaro (00:00)
these moments have taught me that you can reinvent your life at any age. Never give up, never give up because there’s always something you can do.
And it is really scary when you get to be this age, because, you know, I don’t want to be a Walmart reader when I’m 80.
Quentin (01:50)
Hello everyone. Welcome to the Real Estate Pros podcast. I am your host, Q Edmonds, and I’m excited to be here today. I have another fantastic guest. cannot wait for you guys to hear her story, what she’s involved in, how she’s doing real estate, how she’s helping people, how she’s coaching people, how she’s training people. I’m super excited about her being here today. I’m excited about her story and I cannot…
take a hold of anybody else’s story. They got to give it for themselves. But I’m hoping that she tells you some of the things that she told me because I really believe it’s going to be encouraging, uplifting, and motivating. And so I am truly, excited to introduce you all to Ms. Robyn Cavallaro Ms. Robyn how you doing today, Absolutely. Absolutely. So glad you’re here. I’m excited to have you on.
Robyn Cavallaro (02:37)
⁓ Awesome. Thanks for having me. I’m excited to be here.
Quentin (02:44)
⁓ I am the type, I like to dive in. So I would love for you to tell the people what your main focus is these days. If you can give us a little bit of an origin story, kind of how you got to where you are now. We love the hero’s journey. And then also tell them where you are in the world. People love to know where people are geographically. So what you’re doing, your origin story and where you are. Ms. Robyn, you have the floor, man.
Robyn Cavallaro (02:57)
Mm-hmm.
Okay.
Okay, I’ll go backwards there. So I am in the Villages Florida, which is an active adult community in central Florida. We’re a little northwest of Orlando, south of Ocala. And it’s a very unique community. It’s a very unique community to sell in. It’s absolutely fantastic place to live if you want to be active in your years leading up to and in retirement.
Quentin (03:09)
Okay.
Robyn Cavallaro (03:34)
because there’s not just retired people here. ⁓ I’ve been selling real estate since 2020. I got my license. so this is my little bit of my story.
⁓ I was in the restaurant business in Pennsylvania and I’ve always been in the food business. I’m Italian, so food is my life. But I had a great restaurant and then I decided to open a coffee house. It was not a good idea. This is just pre-COVID, so I beat the curve, but the coffee shop was not a good idea and I lost everything, like everything.
Quentin (04:09)
Mmm.
Robyn Cavallaro (04:10)
I moved from Pennsylvania, my children were living in Florida and at the time I think it was a message from God because my daughter was pregnant. And I said, ⁓ this is now time for mommy to move to Florida. So I came down here, stayed in the food business, but then eventually.
when COVID hit, decided I needed a Plan B because I was already on my Plan B. And I got my real estate license. using the power of social interest media has brought me from having nothing. I got no sphere of influence. I didn’t know anyone here. And now I’m making over $500,000 a year. And I started, I had…
I was renting a home, which I now own. ⁓ I had a car loan and I had about $10,000 to my name. I was 56 years old. So, and no college education. So I’ve been an entrepreneur my whole life.
And so that was scary. It was very scary, but I got into real estate, learned to be the local expert and put myself out there on social. And it has been tremendous for me. ⁓ So much so I’m very successful still, and I’m still an active realtor. So for example, last year I had 88 sales and, but I work like I move all day long every day. ⁓
But I want to be able to give back. So I want to teach realtors that A, you can get into this business at any age and it can be a successful career from you. But I’m teaching them how I do it, how I run my daily schedule, how and what I post, how I post, where I get the information. This is all coming out in a series of audio and visual podcasts, one on YouTube.
Quentin (05:57)
Yeah.
Robyn Cavallaro (05:58)
and then on Spotify and Apple Tunes called Stop Chasing, Start Attracting. It’s where you come to build your brand, grow your authority, and reinvent your life in real estate because I spend no money on advertising.
I use all social media and it has been tremendous for me and anyone can do it. just have to work real estate. It’s not a hard job, but you must work hard at it. I say this in my books. I say this to my customers. I talk to it about anybody that’s looking for support, whether it’s coaching or teaching. So, ⁓
Yeah, so here I am now. I’m in the 2026. I already have 25 transactions under my belt. And I’m primarily by myself. do, there’s another woman that works through the broker I work for and I’ll share leads with her when I can’t handle them. But for the most part, I do everything. I do my own video. I do my own editing, all my own text posting and all of my video posting. I do everything.
Because that’s one thing I learned from coming out of bankruptcy is when you start to grow, if you start to give too many people other jobs to do, you lose control and kind of get out there. at 62 years old, I just try to keep everything within my house. And if I can’t keep it in my house, I just don’t do it because I can’t take the risk of somebody ruining my brand and my business by letting it get out of control.
I think I answered your questions. Did I skip over something? Okay. Okay.
Quentin (08:14)
Oh, you’ve, you’ve thoroughly answered my question. You’ve thoroughly answered my question. And I
appreciate, mean, so much so that I was taking notes as you was talking and I love, you know, got into the restaurant business, you decided to open up a coffee shop and you you said that wasn’t the best decision. And so, you know, that kind of set you back. And then you, it’s like a message from God and you moved from.
from Pennsylvania to Florida, you got your real estate license, you talked about your car loan, you talked about no college education. Like I was listening actively. And I reiterate the things that you say, because I always make this statement probably, every podcast, Ms. Robyn, that destiny has no wasted moments, right? Meaning no matter what we go through in life,
Robyn Cavallaro (08:52)
Thank you.
that’s smart.
Quentin (09:06)
destiny builds us to the moments where we are now. It’s like this momentum builder, right? And we borrow from different situations of our past because it makes us who we are now. It drives our passion. It drives our story. It drives our why. And so I would love to know that these moments in your journey, what has these moments taught you about yourself, Ms. Robyn? Has it taught you discipline, humility? Like what has these moments taught you?
Robyn Cavallaro (09:12)
Mm-hmm.
Well, these moments have taught me that you can reinvent your life at any age. Never give up, never give up because there’s always something you can do. So, for example, I was working for a food purveyor selling food. It was a company called Cheney Brothers, but…
I could see that during COVID, this could be a problem because nobody knew what that world looked like. So I got my real estate license, but I was still working full time and learning my craft and learning about my community in that period of time. It was like December, I gave my notice and I was just going to get into real estate full time, but…
I still was worried about money because you never know when your next sale is coming. I went to work at Publix. So I have a food background. I was working in the bakery. So I was in there bagging bread and doing whatever just to have a little bit of money coming in. So if you are tenacious and you are driven,
You will find these opportunities to support yourself, to help you move forward. And it is really scary when you get to be this age, because, you know, I don’t want to be a Walmart reader when I’m 80.
You know, I would love to retire at some point. I mean, right now I’m on a roll. I don’t think I would ever retire from this job until in my seventies. But I do want to teach. I want to teach. I want to speak. I want people to be inspired so they know.
Quentin (10:51)
Yeah. Yeah.
Robyn Cavallaro (11:00)
You know, losing everything isn’t the end of your life. It can be. You can make it that way. But you need to endeavor to take that next step.
Quentin (11:09)
Whew, Ms. Robyn, you are the personification of Destiny Has No Waste of Moments. Thank you for your transparency. Thank you for what I call the gift of your vulnerability. think people that’s viewing this, it’s going to make them understand their journey a little bit better. I mean, to be able to borrow from the different places that they’ve been, it teaches you each lesson in life, each journey in life teaches you different things.
Right. And sometimes you don’t understand when a job that you don’t like or some job you wish you would be doing different, but that job can teach you into ⁓ it can teach you ⁓ people skills, how to talk to people. Right. It can teach you time management because, know, you had to be at a certain place at a certain time. You may not want to be there, but it teaches you a structure. Right. All these things can prepare you for when you are powering your own vision and your own journey. So you’re borrowing again, just from these different moments. And I think you are the exact
Robyn Cavallaro (11:36)
Yes.
Mm-hmm.
Alright.
Quentin (12:05)
sonification of that. So I really, really appreciate you, Shan. Thank you so much. ⁓ Let me ask you this. What is your next real goal? Like, what are you looking to solve a scale next?
Robyn Cavallaro (12:10)
You’re welcome.
So besides selling homes, because that’s how I make my money, my next goal is to ⁓ teach. I’d like to do virtual and in-person trainings. I have a training deck that I put together working on the programs, but not that somebody couldn’t hire me now. ⁓
Quentin (13:02)
Yeah.
Robyn Cavallaro (13:10)
And again, I would love to be able to speak at seminars, ⁓ whether it’s a NAR seminar, a local seminar, really showing realtors is, I always hear, I don’t know how to get exposure and it’s very easy. And you might not be able to do this with your camera, and that’s the hardest part, but you could do it through images and information, but you have to prove yourself as an expert. And I teach that.
And I’ve written a couple of books. you don’t mind, I’ll show you here. This is, the 9 to 5. I designed this. This is for millennials. They’re not millennials anymore. ⁓ This is for under 30s. old I am? Under 30 years old. If you’re looking to get into real estate or you know, maybe you know a child or a cousin or a relative, this, I go over how to get in and make a six figure income.
Quentin (13:50)
Yeah.
Robyn Cavallaro (14:01)
if you’re under 30, because they’re always struggling to find their way. And I know that a lot of them want minimal input, maximum return, but there is no business that offers that. But this will help guide you into that. And then I also, my favorite is my real estate is your next chapter, how to start over, stand out and succeed in real estate at any age.
Quentin (14:18)
Yeah.
Robyn Cavallaro (14:22)
And I use me on the cover because ⁓ I model everything I do after popular people and Dave Ramsey. Not that I’m Dave Ramsey, but Dave Ramsey puts his big old face on every book. And then here, first 12 deals. This is going to teach you how to grow your business and get traction and get closings. And they’re all available on Amazon in print or for your Kindle device.
Quentin (14:30)
Love Dave Ramsey. Love Dave Ramsey. That’s right. Yeah. Yeah.
See? I love it. Oh, oh, I love it. I’m so glad you’re walking us through your journey, showing us the resources. I love that the titles of your book. I didn’t get the last one because I was still writing, but Skip the Nine to Five. I’m real to say that’s your next chapter. Like, I love your, I love your titles. I love what you’re doing. I love how you want to help people. You want to coach people. You want to train people. So I’m going love asking you this question. Will you hear the word relationship?
What comes to mind for you?
Robyn Cavallaro (15:15)
Well, are everything. It’s developing that know, like, and trust, and that’s what social media does. Because my customers will call me. I’ve never met them before.
but because they see me on TV, like I feel like I know you. feel like it, cause I do share personal things, not everything personal, but I will show them pictures of my family. I show them my granddaughters. You know, I talk about my life because it’s very important. People are trusting you. And especially in my market, I still sell homes where the buyer is not here.
So for example, the other day, the couple started out, they were going to sell their home in May, then they moved it up to April. And he told me he had to see the house before he bought it. I went and looked at a property for them and I told them, I’m going to tell you something right now. I’m going to go out on a ledge. This home is Robyn approved. This is a beautiful home. I would not wait for it because it might not be here in a week. And it was perfect.
Quentin (16:12)
Yeah.
Robyn Cavallaro (16:12)
but they know
me enough, they know I am not gonna send them down that wrong path. I’ve taken people out of homes before I will walk in and like, what do you think? I’m like, this house is a dump, okay, we’re outta here. Because you can find something so much better somewhere else. But I’ve developed that relationship without really knowing it because they’re watching me, they’re watching me for years. But again, if you go to my real estate channel, it’s my name, Robyncavallaro.com you see all the…
Quentin (16:17)
Yeah.
⁓ yeah.
Yeah.
Robyn Cavallaro (16:41)
Content I post and that’s what people are looking they want to know about those things now Learning about the lifestyle here gets a lot more views than talking about taxes and cost of living But that’s where I show my expertise and that’s where they call me. I don’t need 25,000 people watching my video. I need two a month three a month That’s it. And if they call me to buy a house
But I’ve proved myself, so I’ve developed that relationship without knowing it. Well, intentionally, I’m doing it to build the relationship, but it’s an accidental relationship.
Quentin (17:12)
I love it. Yes!
I love it. I love your intentionality. I just love the way you just go about doing things. I’m not sure. Have you ever heard of Brene Brown? Oh, Ms. Robyn, you definitely should look into Brene Brown. Brene Brown, yeah, she’s a leader just in, one of her studies has been vulnerability, but she goes around just teaching leaders. She’s a leader herself. All kinds of accolades, but.
Robyn Cavallaro (17:25)
No.
Renee Brown?
Quentin (17:42)
She, she leads from vulnerability and to teach people how vulnerability is a superpower. And why I brought her up listening to you talk is because you shoot people straight. Brene Brown has a saying where she says, clear is kind, unclear is unkind. Right. And so you telling people, Hey, this is a dump. Like you, you being straight with people about, you know, is, is Robyn approved? Like you being crystal clear. That’s the kindest thing that we can be to somebody is to be clear. And so I just.
Robyn Cavallaro (18:10)
Sure.
Quentin (18:11)
I’m just doubling down on how much I really love your approach. I really like the way you go about business. I really love about the way you go about building organic relationships, whether it’s business wise or otherwise. And so I just wanted to say that that’s why I bought Brene up because I, you know, what you’re doing, I think just resonates and it speaks value. And I always say, yes, please. you would. Yes, you absolutely. You absolutely love Brene. Let me ask you this. Is there any topic that I have not brought up?
Robyn Cavallaro (18:29)
Awesome, I’m gonna check her out. Yeah.
Quentin (18:39)
that you would like to speak on, or is there any other words of inspiration, education, motivation? Like if you came in with something on your mind that you feel like our viewers should know, I kind of just want to open up the floor that way you can stick that and make sure people understand exactly some of the messaging that you want to get.
Robyn Cavallaro (19:36)
Okay, sure. Yeah. I, you know, I believe that if you’re in the real estate business, you have to provide value. Now everyone talks about providing value, but what that is, I actually have a podcast that I just did talks about your authority statement and it’s defining who you are.
you serve and where and you have to figure that out who is my target market what is their avatar and how and where am I going to find content that’s going to be impactful so when they’re going to choose a realtor they say I need you that’s the best advice I could give it just find out who you are and hammer that don’t try to be any everything to everyone because you will attract no one
Again, you want people calling you and you have to prove your authority and it’s not that hard, especially. I use AI every day. I go between ChatGBT and Claude, plus a couple of other ones, but if I want information, I just stick to those two. I ask them, don’t tell them. I ask them both the same question.
And then when they answer, I flush it back through and I started, I’ve done that with my books. I do that with my training, but I spend hours, like when I wrote those books, it flushed out ⁓ the chapter, the outline and all of the content, but I had to go through and edit all that, make sure it didn’t, this doesn’t sound right. This isn’t the right spot. So it still takes hours, but.
Quentin (20:47)
Yes.
Robyn Cavallaro (21:09)
There’s so many tools out there, Notebook LM, to make beautiful presentations. There’s so many things out there at our disposal that weren’t there even 10 years ago that you need to use to grow your business. I think I’m getting off topic there, and I do that without notes. But I really want realtors to know that it’s not hard. You just…
Quentin (21:23)
No, you’re not. You’re good.
Robyn Cavallaro (21:30)
really have to work hard at it. Now I tell, I invite realtors, you want to know how I’m successful, successful, you come live at my house. I’m up at 6 a.m. I make my coffee, I have my athletic greens, drink, I sit down in front of the computer and I don’t make appointments until 10 o’clock.
So ⁓ on the computer, I devote so much time to editing my shorts, editing my long form. Then I go through all of the local news and create.
Text content for that as well get those posted get those scheduled now a lot of it’s on autopilot Go through I have Claude scrubs through my emails and drafts a response from me I look at it see if it some of it doesn’t look like anything close to what I would say But at least I know hey, I got a response to these people
going through text message, going through phone calls. And that’s in the morning. And then I’ll do that again from whatever time I get back into the house, four o’clock until seven, eight o’clock at night.
Quentin (22:30)
driving jewels, you are dropping jewels. I’m writing down stuff that you saying for me. I’m like, yeah.
So, all right. So, thank you. I think you are giving us just so much good, good, good information. Ms. I really appreciate you. Listen, if someone wanted to reach out to you, connect with you, collaborate with you, learn more about what you’re doing, how can they get in contact with you,
Robyn Cavallaro (22:43)
I
Well, I have a website, robyncavallaro.com. I do have, I’m on all social platforms, ⁓ YouTube, Robyn Cavallaro as a Realtor, Stop Chasing, Start Attracting, I have on YouTube, also on iTunes, Spotify, RR Radio, all those places that we broadcast podcasts in the audio version. And they can call me. ⁓
I’ll give you my phone number. put my phone. Somebody said to me, you should put your phone number out in public. I’m like, I’m a realtor. They have to call me. You know, I don’t care. So yeah, you can call me, text me, email me. In fact, I had a buyer once call me and say, we were here. We saw this house. We now want to make an offer on it. We’re back in wherever it was like New Hampshire. We want you to go write up an offer. And I’m like, wow.
Quentin (23:23)
Right there.
Robyn Cavallaro (23:43)
And he says, yeah, we called you because you’re the only realtor out there that says, call me. Everyone says, text me. you know, and because my market is primarily 50, 55, they still want to talk to people. They don’t want to do all this. Some of them do, but they want to talk to people.
Quentin (23:49)
Wow.
I appreciate you, Ms. Robyn. Listen, let me say three things to you sincerely. First, let me say thank you for your time. I mean, you just gave us your schedule, so I know you got plenty of things you could be doing with your time. So thank you for giving us your time. Secondly, thank you for giving us your story, your narrative, leading with vulnerability, leading with transparency. I believe stories have a way of planting seeds in people. And we may never see the growth, but still the seed is there. And that seed can literally course correct.
It can cause them to think differently. So thank you for your story. Lastly, thank you for your perspective, for your mindset and the way you think. I greatly appreciate you bringing that mindset to this platform. So Ms. Robyn, thank you so much. I appreciate you.
Robyn Cavallaro (24:32)
Right. You’re welcome.
Well, thank you for having me. I enjoyed talking with you.
Quentin (24:45)
Absolutely. Well, listen, y’all heard Ms. Robyn. She showed you the books. She gave you a contact. She gave you her phone number, people. Listen, everything’s in the show notes. Please get in contact with her. Get her books. Check her out. Check out her podcast. Please, please, but definitely make sure you are subscribed here because we’re going to continue to bring up amazing people just like Ms. Robyn. So ma’am, thank you again. And everyone else, y’all have a fantastic day.
In we go.
