Don’t start for two weeks and give up or slow down, full throttle the entire time, every single day you wake up and if it’s something that you actually want and you’re passionate about, you put a thousand percent to it.

Meghan Escobar (01:52)
Hello everyone. Welcome back to Real Estate Pros Podcast, hosted by Investor Fuel. I’m your host, Meghan Escobar, and today I have the pleasure of sitting down with an incredible young gentleman, a little bit out of the box here, guys. And I’m so excited to bring him onto the show because I had the opportunity to get to know him a little bit, and I know that he is going to provide some incredible value for our audience and insights as the way he’s positioned himself as a professional at such a young age. I’m so excited to bring you into the show, Andrew Cox, founder of Better Real Estate, and we’ll get into more about what he’s doing out here. But Andrew, thank you so much.

Andrew Cox Jr (02:35)
Thank you for having me.

Meghan Escobar (02:36)
Absolutely. So Diving into this, folks might not know the name Andrew Cox yet, but they’re about to find out, or what Better Real Estate is. Can you give the audience just a 30,000 foot view of what your focus is with betterrealestate.org and what brought you into the industry?

Andrew Cox Jr (02:56)
I’ll start with what bought me into the industry. I started this about a year ago. I began wholesaling properties by myself, cold calling, the regular thing. You’re posting on Facebook, you’re calling for investors and buyers. And I had a huge problem of finding buyers. I held on to property sometimes for months and it was an issue. So I decided to create Better Real Estate to connect more people. You can go on there, you can Meet with buyers, sellers, all types of investors. It’s a social media platform style. So you can scroll through properties, you can scroll through different people, you can connect with people through there and connect with the people that they’ve connected with as to help you build a much better network instead of posting in the empty spaces or a void Facebook.

Meghan Escobar (03:42)
That’s really, cool stuff. And one thing that really stuck out to me when we were chatting prior to getting on here was when I asked you what’s the purpose of it. You said to solve a solution for the lack of connectivity, which is very interesting because we do have all these platforms, We’ve got the Instagrams, the TikToks, the even the LinkedIn, What’s your experience been using those types of social media platforms versus what you, foresee this the what you’ve created?

Andrew Cox Jr (04:10)
So one of the biggest things I noticed, if you were to go on Facebook and join a group right now, you’ll notice in one of those groups, there will be about one hundred thousand people in one of those groups. If you could if you post, you might get a thousand views and within that a couple of comments and then half of those might not take you seriously. With this, and that’s because there there’s people that might just join, they might be interested a little bit, but they don’t take it seriously. My site, my platform is built for people that want to take this seriously, who are actively looking for deals every day, actively looking to network with different people every day.

Meghan Escobar (04:45)
That’s awesome. And I hate to bring it up, but we have to, Because you’re so young. 19, got started in wholesaling at the age of 18. it’s unheard of these days, that type of ambition, that type of drive. Talk to us a little bit, Andrew, about, where the passion for this, industry has come for you or being an entrepreneur.

Andrew Cox Jr (05:56)
So I started out from a young age. I’ve been surrounded by entrepreneurs, my dad, close family friends. They had business owners starting businesses. I had a lot of lessons taught to me by my dad. even to this day, different suggestions and things that to help push that. and as I’ve built businesses, talked with different people, met with people, I fell in love with the art of creating a business and scaling it. I love to see something start from nothing and be able to build it into something great. and I love to see people appreciate that as

Meghan Escobar (06:28)
That’s really incredible stuff. And it and it’s not an easy thing to navigate through in this climate. a lot of people might be scared. What do you think it is that keeps you going and pushing through resistance and stuff?

Andrew Cox Jr (06:42)
would say I just know where I want to be. So despite obstacles, I’m I’m also pretty level headed. So any blockage in the road, it doesn’t really phase me. I I take it, I acknowledge it, and then I move past it and it’s on to the next thing. when you have a clear goal in sight, nothing really stops that stops you from realizing that.

Meghan Escobar (07:02)
Yeah. Yeah, that’s an incredible perspective. And I think, some folks, especially, anyone younger listening in can be able to take some value from that. But for you, getting started at such an early age as an entrepreneur, have you faced any challenges that you might share, with the audience? Because I feel this is the stuff that people don’t talk about it’s yeah, we can talk about the clarity and the vision and having powerful and impactful people around you. But is there any challenges that you have faced during this?

Andrew Cox Jr (07:34)
one of the biggest problems is finding people to work with around my age that can help what I do. as you said, it’s a small group. So there’s not always a lot of people that are always ambitious, that always wanna take the long hours and put in days and days worth of time and sacrifice sleep and stuff that. But I definitely would say on the opposing side of that the adults and all the other people, the professionals, they seem to show a lot of respect. I’m sure they recognize ambition and they see that I take this seriously and because of that I haven’t had any issues in that area.

Meghan Escobar (08:05)
That’s awesome. But how about yourself, just any challenges that you may have faced when it comes to creating this platform and getting everything up and running? was it smooth sailing the entire time or did you feel there were some hiccups along the way that you had to figure out and overcome?

Andrew Cox Jr (08:22)
would say the biggest hiccup right now I have is just time. Limitations on time right now. I also have another job and I’m in college at the moment. So time is a bit of a hard thing. I don’t get much sleep. But I besides that, my workflow is pretty steady.

Meghan Escobar (08:39)
And you got into you started with wholesaling. How has that journey been for you? once you started? obviously saw some problem, which is why you created the real estate, Better Real Estate platform. but have you personally had any success on your own, just navigating through your cold calling and, starting at the bottom?

Andrew Cox Jr (08:58)
Yeah, so I’ve been able to meet a lot of great people in the Midwest. I primarily work in Illinois and Missouri right now. I was able to close my first deal within probably three months of starting. I feel things that also help you push when there’s slow moments you remember that this there’s definitely a lot of potential and opportunity in the area.

Meghan Escobar (09:20)
Absolutely. Absolutely. And is there any advice that you would wanna give to somebody who might have some fear around getting started in wholesaling or taking the steps.

Andrew Cox Jr (09:33)
Go for it, Wholesaling or any other business, just go for it. and if you’re gonna go for it, stick to it. Don’t start for two weeks and give up or slow down, full throttle the entire time, every single day you wake up and if it’s something that you actually want and you’re passionate about, you put a thousand percent to it.

Meghan Escobar (09:51)
I that you said that and we’ll before we wrap up, we’ll kinda end with this. And Andrew and I, when we were talking before we got on here, now mind you guys, he just launched this two weeks ago and I asked him how it’s been going. Obviously, it’s a brand new project, but he’s already got a small community, he’s growing one a day, I think, in the community since you’ve launched.

Andrew Cox Jr (10:11)
Earth for the last week. Yeah.

Meghan Escobar (10:13)
And yeah, it’s a small start, but it’s a start and that’s a reminder for you to just Andrew said, just go for it and keep going. And I asked him, how he’s obtaining that and it’s because he’s working towards the business every single day. Absolutely. Yeah. So thank you for coming on here. And before we do wrap up, if somebody wanted to reach out to you, Andrew, and connect with you, maybe learn more about what you’re doing in this platform or potentially invest in you and help you move along here. what would be the best way for someone to connect and reach you?

Andrew Cox Jr (11:27)
number that would be (856) 533-8659. For business that would be [email protected]. D-R-E-W C B U S I N E S 1 at Gmail. On social media On Instagram, that’d be @thebetterrealestate.

Meghan Escobar (11:50)
