How Real Estate Entrepreneurs Automate a Business at Any Size | Preston Brown
Key takeaways
- Preston Brown ran/managed 23 businesses, most of them automated, before scaling back to focus on family after his father's death in 2019.
- His core belief: 'You can automate a business at any size' — automation, not hustle and grind, is what creates real business value and personal freedom.
- He shifted his life priorities around five core areas: faith, family, fitness, finance, fun, and argues you have to organize these within yourself before you can lead or organize others.
- He uses a five-step framework for advancement: Being (time/stillness), Becoming (measurable movement/talent), Believing (testimony/story), Belonging (treasure/community), Blessing (truth and trust) — each stage gives a specific 'gift.'
- Red flag for choosing a mentor: if they won't let you into their home or business before taking your money, be cautious. He mentors for free sometimes and says people who don't pay often don't listen, so some exchange of value matters.
- He argues hustle is a result of passion, not a cause of success — 'You cannot work your way to success. You have to believe your way to success, which brings passion, which hustle follows.'
- He still runs a production home building company and says he's making more money than ever despite negative headlines about the housing industry, because he focuses on finding the 'silver lining' in market problems.
- His current venture, CEO Accelerator, offers affordable coaching to entrepreneurs, opened to the public after years of coaching his own business partners and C-suite executives.

Questions answered in this episode
Can you really automate a business at any size, even a small or early-stage one?
Preston Brown says yes — automation isn't reserved for large companies. He built his wealth by moving away from constant 'hustle, grind, scale' and instead figuring out how to automate his companies (he managed up to 23 businesses, most automated), which freed up his time while increasing the real value of the businesses.
What should investors watch out for when choosing a business mentor?
Preston warns against mentors who ask for money before letting you see their actual home or business. He says a trustworthy mentor should be transparent about their real results first. He also notes a mentor should bring in other experts rather than claiming to be an authority on every area of your life (health, faith, business, etc.).
Is now a good time to be in the home building business given negative housing market headlines?
Preston runs a production home building company and says that despite the news painting home building as a terrible business right now, he's making more money than ever. His approach is to look for the 'silver lining' in market problems rather than avoid the business based on headlines.
How does Preston Brown think about priorities as an entrepreneur with a family?
He identifies five core life priorities: faith, family, fitness, finance, and fun, and says there's no such thing as work-life balance, only prioritization among these. This shift happened after his father died in 2019, prompting him to automate his businesses to get back time with his wife and two kids.
What is Preston Brown's five-step framework for personal or business advancement?
He describes it as a staircase: Being (gives you time/stillness), Becoming (gives you measurable movement/talent), Believing (gives you testimony/story), Belonging (gives you treasure/community), and Blessing (gives you truth and trust). He says each step unlocks a specific gift needed to keep advancing.

The word Satan means crazy thought. What thought or demon is dwelling in your head to corrupt you and prevent you from seeing all of the silver linings? in a world with more problems, if every problem has a silver lining, it’s a world with more silver linings. Silver linings are opportunities. We live in the greatest time to be alive. I have a production home building company and I have never been more exciting excited.

Meghan Escobar (01:02)
Hello, everyone. Welcome back to Real Estate Pros Podcast. I am your host today, Meghan Escobar. And today I have the pleasure of sitting down with a gentleman who is, let’s just say a little outside of the box of our typical guest on this show. And I am so, so excited that he landed on my calendar. I’m so excited to bring his story to the show.
And I will tell you this, the time I spent with him, I’ve been inspired, I learned a whole bunch. And I want to recommend that you take out your pen and papers or really just create some active listening right here. Because Mr. Preston Brown, I don’t know exactly how to introduce him because he is a master of many things from what I learned in the very short time that we got to chat.
One thing that I love the most about what I learned about him is he’s passionate about one thing in life right now, and that’s his two young children. He’s created tons and tons of success for himself and he is continuing to grow and scale and help impact lots of others in the world. Happy to have you here, Preston. Thank you so much for coming to the show.
Preston Brown (02:02)
Thank you, Meghan. This is fun. I love doing it.
Meghan Escobar (02:04)
I love you being here. So for those who might not be familiar with who the heck is Preston Brown? Why is he so cool? What has he done that’s so awesome in this world? Talk to us a little bit about who you are, some of the things that you might have created, and maybe where you’re heading.
Preston Brown (02:21)
Sure. I can talk about where I’m heading. I don’t know if I can really talk about who I am because I’m still figuring that out. I’m a kid at play. I think identity is one of those prisons that stupid people get stuck in. And, brilliant people realize that, it is open-ended as they grow and Well, where I’m going, where I’ve been, I can tell you the ending of the story, or maybe not the ending, the middle. I
have more money than I ever thought I’d have. I have four airplanes. I own a flight school. I was running and managing up until fairly recently twenty three businesses, most of them automated, some startups, having a good time balancing plates. Don’t know I got her, apparently I can sell. and I’ve got two amazing kids, eight year old girl, ten year old boy. I travel a lot. I have the life of dreams.
I’m blessed. Okay, but that’s sort of the movie you’d never want to go watch, right? I won’t just say that’s the beginning, the middle, and the ending. I’ll tell you like that’s where I am today and I’ll give you kind of the beginning and then we can go into a QA. Does that work?
Meghan Escobar (03:16)
Yeah, I love it. Absolutely.
Preston Brown (03:18)
Okay, so broke kid from Canyateo, Texas. If you’ve never heard of Cañateo, that’s okay. Most of the people that live there haven’t either. But basically, if you take El Paso, Texas, put it on a map right here, spit over there, Kanye Till. It’s like a little trailer park outside of El Paso, Texas. So, yes, for anybody that doesn’t know me, that wants to know me, I started this trailer trash. Okay. Probably still there a little bit. Now I just live in a giant house on the top of a mountain. But
my family was amazing. We had all the love in the world. My mom was this incredible psychology gal, which gave me my interest for psychology. he was incredible. I had like really the perfect dad. He was not my real father, even though he was my real father. donor. he chose me. He married my mom when I was in the womb.
my dad raised me. He was this incredible guy, member of Mensa, six foot four, the guy that caught the football in one end zone, ran it to the next end zone, like that superhero guy, right? The guy that you look up to. No, he was good at everything except money, which is why we were pouring into the trailer park.
One day I’m seven, eight, nine years old. My dad wants to go into business and he wants the life we see on TV. He knows he’s smarter than most people, but we don’t have the resources that most people have. And my dad was a metallurgical engineer by trade. He opened his business in the little like tin shed that was next to our trailer. We used to joke, we don’t know if my mom and if he had to pick between my mom and this shed, he had like a lathe, a bandsaw, all this crazy stuff in there.
people were coming to him right and left to make things. And that was before he opened the business, during when he opened the business, even to the day he passed away, he always made things for people. But when he had the business, he didn’t learn some formative lessons on what to price his products for, how to charge, capacity, throughput, any of the things that a good entrepreneur learns. and frankly, he was heart centered, which is where most entrepreneurs are when they start, and he got taken advantage. of. His business lasted three or four months. Mom
And dad eventually had the fight, we had a very loving family, but when poor families go broke, there’s a fight. And mom being a psychology gal, none of us as young kids knew what was going on, but she knew how to get attention. So if you know those big cast iron frying pans, the ones that hold all the flavor, one of these flying across the room, lodges into that like it’s cardboard-esque wall in these mobile homes, and planks to the floor. Well, she had our attention and
I don’t remember all the words, they were yelled, but she said a real man can feed his family. Either go collect what you’re owed or don’t come home. I got to be the charity piece. I got to go with dad in his old Ford truck. We went up to a house not too far from where I live now. And my dad at six foot four, big muscles, met this little guy at five foot nine. I think he was an attorney or something. Go figure he was an attorney.
Meghan Escobar (05:53)
Hehehehe.
Preston Brown (05:54)
And
my dad went in and started like any man would. He demanded his money, he expected to get paid, he deserved to get paid, he’d done the work. the demanding went to asking, asking went to hey man, look, I can’t go home unless I get paid. I can’t eat. Like it wasn’t begging, it wasn’t groveling, but it was definitely justifying. Okay. And
That wound up leading to this guy figured out he had a capital advantage over my dad who was in need and people take advantage of desperate situations. And my dad took a watt of cash from this guy that it was in the 80s. He was o thousands, which meant something in the eighties. Right. And he might have got 150, 200 bucks and he settled. My dad that day, I couldn’t tell what was going on. I didn’t understand everything, but it was the first time in my life I’d ever felt this emotion called hate, which became a theme in my life.
I hated this guy. I could see that he was taking advantage of my dad. I tried to talk to my dad as we left the house, but he wouldn’t talk to me. We drove down to it used to be in Smith’s, it’s in Albertson’s now, but we went to the Smiths grocery store and I rode back with ramen noodles on my lap. And I don’t know why I remember the ramen noodles,
My dad wouldn’t talk to me on the way back. And so it was at that point, the lesson I didn’t get was he chose family over everything. The lesson I did get is this seven, eight, nine-year-old was the wrong lesson, but it was really a good training ground for who I am today and what I’ve learned. I learned that love was not the meaning of life. Money was, transactionality was.
I saw this hatred I had for that man that took advantage of my dad and the good book, the Bible, where it says sins of the father, sins of the son. I received my sin. I inherited it and I became a transactional guy. Okay. I immediately within the next year opened my first business stealing lemon juices from Brandy’s and selling them at school. That turned into painting driveway numbers, lying that I worked for the fire department and trying to get 10 bucks a driveway. But you make a thousand bucks a weekend at 12 years old and your mom’s making
half of that working a job for 40 hours a week and you’re working what two days and getting your friends to paint like Tom Sawyer did the fence, you’re experiencing entrepreneurship. That led into the transactional guy became in young life. I was, hustle, grind, scale, hustle, grind, scale. Always hustle, grind, scale. Because that’s what Instagram said. And Mobian Psychology, I built formulas around it. This went on till 2019. I built some fairly big businesses and I get a phone call. And the phone call is
Hey, did you need to come home? Your dad’s gone.
and I did. I drove their crying the whole way. I knew what it meant. and I got to experience hate again. This time it was directed differently. I hated God for taking him. I hated him for leaving, and I hated me for not spending more time with him. My mom used to always say, figure out the game, you’ll learn how to win. Figure out the game, you’ll learn how to win. Beautiful framing that every entrepreneur needs in the back of their head. And for the first time in life, I figured out that there was a game I couldn’t win. And
My dad was my greatest teacher. He made me an entrepreneur. He also made me a family man. 2019, father, husband, wasn’t there, never present, building big businesses. My wife had.
Meghan Escobar (08:42)
and this was due to just the anger that you were holding in your heart.
Preston Brown (08:45)
Yeah, I was going out and finding money to solve for the sin that I misunderstood that I missed at seven, eight, nine years old. when I lost dad, when he went home, then all of a sudden everything changed. I looked at my mom broken in the room. I looked at my sister, my brother. I looked at everybody that was broken around. I was like, I need time with these people. My God, my wife and my kids. My son is the same age difference from me that I am with my dad. What do I need to do for my health? What do I need to do for this?
And I switched all my formulas. I went away from growth, hustle, grind, scale, build, build, build. And I started looking at how do I automate these things so I have time with these people. And what’s crazy is you can automate a business at any size. Any size. Okay. Like there’s different, and we won’t have time today to go into automation, but it is absolutely possible. It is the key to wealth. You can automate a business at any size. And when you figure out automation, when you figure out the magic tips to automation, when you stop.
Buying into all the hustle and grind that’s all over social media, Instagram, Facebook, whatever you name it, and you automate, that’s a business with real value. So I went from wealthy, I went from millionaire to way wealthier. I went to, huh, which jet do I want? Which is a better decision than which Hyundai. Okay. And like I got time with my family, I got everything I dreamed of. But what was crazy is in 2019.
And because of this gift of automation, so I could spend time with these people. I got to go back to love is the meaning of life. And I got to figure out how to balance it. There’s no such thing as work-life balance, right? But there is this thing called priorities. And life’s only got a few cores like faith, family, fitness, finance, fun. Maybe focus there. Let’s drive into there so that once you can figure out how to organize that in you, you can go figure out how to organize the people. people follow.
People follow people they respect, they follow people they love, they follow people that they see power and incredible stuff in, and when you go back
Meghan Escobar (10:35)
No like and trust, right?
No like trust.
Preston Brown (10:37)
Exactly. Exactly. So that’s my story. That’s how I in a very brief version learned and earned, the need for automation and entrepreneurship and success and freedom.
Meghan Escobar (11:27)
For a long time, Preston, it sounds like you were, weren’t incorporating these automations which made you to be this like robot almost, right? Like you’re constantly on the go, constantly not paying attention to the things that were most important in life, which
Preston Brown (11:40)
Well you don’t know. You never know what’s most important in life until you take the time just to get some stillness, right?
Meghan Escobar (11:46)
One of my favorite words say
Preston Brown (11:48)
Well,
if you’re doing breath work, you know that matters, right? I have a real simple formula for advancement, but before I go into it, and it’s advancement in any area, if we just give your people that in fifteen minutes, it’ll change their life. But the reason I came up with this formula is how do you know it’s right? When you’re in that entrepreneur stage, say you’re that investor, you’re that business owner, you’re not automated yet, you haven’t figured it out, you’ve followed the wrong guru who’s there for owns their own self-aggrandizement, not your success.
They want you to come to the next seminar, not become a better person, right? and you’ve done the hustle, done the grind, done the hustle, done the grind, and now you’re in this weird mix where problems are coming at you. my God, I might lose this key employee. my God, I might lose this key customer. my God, this. And so you have all these things hitting you. How do you know what’s right? How do you get time for your kids? How do you get that compelling feeling?
Meghan Escobar (12:36)
Yeah.
Preston Brown (12:36)
You gotta go solve the problems. in that point in your life, finance is your biggest problem because it’s got all the stuff in the way. And that’s where getting to a level of automation where you can at least just get to the point to get this simple formula. Five steps. Imagine like a staircase. Everything for me is a staircase, because top of the staircase, sort of like the end of the rainbow, right? You want to be there. Being,
Meghan Escobar (12:55)
Right.
Preston Brown (12:56)
becoming, believing, belonging, blessing. They all come with gifts. Being is time, it’s stillness.
If there is something stealing your time, that is a problem. But problems, paradoxically in life, and paradoxes are where you find truth, are also gifts, right? Prove the paradox of the truth, right? Can God create a rock so big that God cannot lift the rock? The answer is yes, the answer is no. So God is God. That’s the paradox. Well, when you have time, you get to study the problem. If I look at a problem and I look at all sides, I hold up this device right here.
Right? What do you see? You see a phone. I turn it around from a different angle. I see a picture of my beautiful children. Right. Still a phone. But when you look at it from all angles,
Meghan Escobar (13:40)
Perspective, perspective. Yeah.
Preston Brown (13:42)
being gives you time. Yeah. Time gives you the ability to make a decision. Decisions are where your destiny lives. You can’t have the right destiny, the right compelling future, the right hope unless you’re making the right decision, because you have the time to find the silver lining and to become more.
Right. And so once you get into becoming, you’ve made a decision. You cannot ever measure something that is not moving. And if you are an entrepreneur, you have to measure. I won’t even hire a manager. I’ll only hire a measurer because manager is a stupid word. It’s like this presupposition that you’re better than somebody else. You’re not. God made you equal. Okay. But what you are is somebody that can change the valuation of your pocketbook by being measured as more valuable.
Ding ding ding, right? And so becoming gives you measurable movement, talent, the next gift, right? Once you’ve had time and talent, being becoming, you move into belonging. Why? Because with enough talent, with enough becoming, with enough measurable movement and enough pivots, that’s why that entrepreneur graph has the ups and downs.
I’m sorry, I got that out of order for you. I’m sorry, not talent. Being, becoming, believing. The next one is not believing. Yeah. Okay. So believing gives you the next gift, which is testimony. You’ve experienced it, you’ve lived it, you’ve pivoted your own process, and you’ve built yourself a story. Facts tell, stories sell.
Whenever you believe the meaning of the word belief, if you track it all the way back to its Germanic roots, is be love, is a story you sell yourself every day. So you’ve got time, you’ve got talent, you’ve got testimony. The best selling book in the world is still the Bible. Why? There’s lots of stories.
Meghan Escobar (15:23)
Yeah.
Preston Brown (15:24)
what’s your story? Who are you selling? Right? And so now you’ve got these new stories because you’ve seen the process, you’ve proved it. Being, becoming, believing.
Belonging, belonging school. There’s another T. It’s also a T word, treasure.
And when I find out about every healed soul, every entrepreneur that’s made it through the whole process, they’ve got to automation. I’ve got nine billionaires in their phone. You know what they don’t do when you sit down and have a coffee with them? They don’t talk about business and money.
Meghan Escobar (15:51)
Love that you brought that up because I have heard that so many times. so yeah, let go a little deeper into that, if you will.
Preston Brown (15:58)
They talk about their kids. They talk about their lives.
Meghan Escobar (16:00)
Legacy.
Preston Brown (16:01)
They talk about the biggest problems they’ve experienced and why it matters to solve them. When people get healed from their wounds, that wound is not only a pain point. Love can only be measured through suffering. So when you suffer enough to show your love and you heal it,
Then you find other people suffering in the same way as you, and you work on that. These billionaires talk about their greatest challenges and how they overcame them, who they needed to become, how you can do that. These are the conversations. There’s never an invest in this. You can get there, but you have to get them couple drinks first. Well, most people. But they’re fun. And when you get there, it’s funny because you find that people that have received help help.
Meghan Escobar (16:45)
Yeah.
Preston Brown (16:46)
And there’s the last one: being, becoming, believing, belonging.
Belonging does get you treasure. The last one’s blessing, and you get two gifts for blessing. You get truth, which truly sets you free, and trust. Because guess what? The end of every process is the beginning of another. The day you’re done is the day you start dying. I got rich and I started going out and studying successful people. You know what I found out about all these really spiritual healed yogis in India?
The moment they shed all their attachments, they start dying. Their bodies start shutting down. When you get rid of all your karma, you start going home. You leave. So it’s weird. All these yogis, you can’t ask them all the advice. They all create an attachment so they can stay here. You can’t get rid of all your attachments, but you can shed the bad ones and go help the people you want to help. Go be that light in the world. Take your lampshade off, shine your light.
And become somebody beautiful. I love teaching people about entrepreneurship. I love teaching people about business. I like teaching them how to use money. Money’s mentioned more times in the Bible than Jesus would. It’s probable, it’s probable biblically that Jesus was filthy rich. The gifts he was given by the magi that showed up were gold, frankincense, and myrrh and
Meghan Escobar (17:58)
Okay, I’ve literally just read something on this last night before I went to bed. I always do some kind of reflect and reading and it was all about this. Like
Preston Brown (18:07)
There’s no such thing as a coincidence. Of
Meghan Escobar (18:10)
Never.
Preston Brown (18:10)
gold in those days was fifty pounds. If you were compelled by angels, would you bring less? No, you might bring more. Why would Roman soldiers, the richest people on earth, cast lots for a beggar’s robes at the base of the cross? Probably wouldn’t. He was probably rich. There’s nothing wrong with you getting rich. Because money is literally just an amplifier. If you
Meghan Escobar (18:31)
Yeah.
Preston Brown (18:32)
you get louder. If you’re with money and you get louder, you’re gonna hurt a lot of people. Hurt people, hurt people. If that’s right, amazing person with more money, you’re gonna get louder. People are gonna seek you out. Meghan’s gonna call you and say, hey, you wanna be on my podcast? Cool, yeah, that’s fun. I’ll talk about myself. Everybody loves that.
Meghan Escobar (18:47)
Right. right?
Preston Brown (18:48)
Pardon my rant. Sorry, I get excited.
Meghan Escobar (19:26)
No, it was a beautiful rant. you said so many things, but something that I wrote down that I can pivot back to is like mentorship.
first and foremost, I want to just say the way that you position yourself as a mentor, I think it’s just beautiful because from what I hear and what I feel, you are not working with people to keep them in a cage, to keep them coming back to your masterminds, to keep them coming back to your groups. Like, where do you need help in life? How can I help you scale and excel? So yeah, that’s how I feel like you operate. I feel like you are like
Preston Brown (19:55)
Yes, exactly.
Meghan Escobar (19:56)
from what I have seen and experienced in life with different mentors and seeing the way that people operate, I feel like there are so many
companies or so many people that position themselves to be mentors, they don’t really want you to grow outside of themselves, outside of their group, their community.
Preston Brown (20:14)
You have to be careful with mentors. Here’s a rule that I didn’t used to have. And I won’t talk about all of my mentors because some of them are very famous. And it’s interesting. I’ve even had litigation with them where they came after me because they felt I was a competitor. And I’ve probably said it on previous podcasts, and I don’t even like bringing it up. It’s bad energy. But one thing I now absolutely feel about mentors.
If you have somebody that you’re looking at to mentor you and they will not allow you into their home and they will not say, come see my business, come see my home, come see all this before you give me a dollar. Okay. I do some mentorship, but there’s not one student client or anything that I need the money. Honestly, if I ever have, I haven’t had this yet. If I ever have a client that’s like you haven’t helped me, I’ll just give the money back.
The money is you have to have something as an exchange because I have mentor people for free and they don’t listen.
Meghan Escobar (21:01)
True, it’s very true.
Preston Brown (21:02)
But, my thought on mentors, it’s easy to get caught in the hype. It’s easy to be like, I’m gonna go with this guru who’s good at everything. So I a lot about fitness and health. I own a med spa. I will literally send you to somebody else to be mentored there.
I’ll have my opinions on it. If you want to sit down and have a scotch or an iced tea and talk about it, I’ll talk about it. But I will put a disclaimer that my opinions on health are probably substandard to those that spend their lives in it. Now, on entrepreneurship, yeah, I can probably help anyone. Okay. I have coached and counseled billionaires’ family offices, and I’ve counseled hundreds, if not thousands, now of different entrepreneurs. Now, that being said,
Moment I tell you, hey, we need to talk, I’m gonna be your diet guru, I’m gonna be your fitness guru, I’m gonna be your faith guru, I’m gonna be this. definitely you need to go balance all those things, but if your mentor is not bringing other experts in to talk through these things with you, that’s focused there. I have incredible faith, I have incredible belief, but I received it by running around the world and spending my money to prove it.
I wasn’t born with it, I wasn’t divinely inspired. it’s funny how much evidence there is for things you can believe in. It’s all there. I we were talking of breath work before the show, but yeah, it’s incredible what the human body can do. That can help drive faith, right?
Meghan Escobar (22:18)
But yeah, to the connection to spirituality, divine, all the things, yeah.
Preston Brown (22:22)
But I can’t be your breathwork mentor. I do it probably less successfully every day than Meghan, but I can’t do that. I could be a business mentor. I could be somebody that helps you figure out how do I automate the business.
Meghan Escobar (22:33)
And find your mastery.
Preston Brown (22:34)
Yeah. Exactly. How do you master it? Nobody’s gonna go from like owner or operator to owner. You’re gonna go from owner to passionate to wild student learning massively to master. Then you’re gonna get up to that true owner. Okay. Like ownership everybody wants, I wanna own something. It doesn’t get you possession. Yeah. Ownership gets you responsibility. Responsibility gets you possession.
Now, I do think a good mentor will compel you to try to speak all the different languages of the human mind. And this might be a little bit of a topic that’s hard to go into. I don’t how much time we have, but the human experience, there’s four languages. Okay. to go simply on it, the mind divides, the heart connects, the body feels, the soul knows. But the mind is often screaming and the soul is often whispering. It’s very hard to tell the difference.
Meghan Escobar (23:20)
yes, for sure. And where do you think the best place to find that balance, right? it’s difficult that there’s really no such thing, but where do you think it is the best place to be able to, hear those whispers?
Preston Brown (23:30)
everywhere it would be my answer because I’ve gotten the whispers everywhere, I think God’s a woman. She doesn’t speak one language. she likes to make sure to really be a little confusing sometimes about how she communicates. She never gives the answer. She gives the question. I don’t think God actually has a gender. I know I’m gonna trigger some people because
Meghan Escobar (23:46)
I know, I agree with you too.
Preston Brown (23:49)
I don’t think God gives the answer. I think God gives the question. I don’t think God gives the destination. I think God gives the path. Right. And I think when you’re looking at the whispers, you’ll definitely get a lot of it in meditation. You’ll definitely get a lot of it in breath work. But there will be times where you are having fun, where you are enjoying life, where you are in
Enthusiastic about something. I’m thinking of the word enthuse. Enter theos. Enter God. And when you’re enthused about something, you get this kind of divine compulsion. I’m not talking the Christian God or the Muslim God or the this God or the that God. I’m talking like higher self, God, whatever that means to you. But when you are enthused, you can get that same whisper, like a knowing.
Okay, a knowing. When you are quiet and still, you can get a knowing. I’ve been jogging, not enthused. I don’t like running. I don’t know who came up with that as an idea. Right? And then I’ll get the most brilliant idea
Meghan Escobar (24:44)
Hehehe
Preston Brown (24:44)
and I’ve heard the woo-woo people say memory lives in muscles. Well, guess what happens when you use them? Like
Meghan Escobar (24:49)
You
move Yeah, you move
Preston Brown (24:50)
And I’m like, my gosh, what if I did this? And I’ll combine something that I saw in a high-end hotel into the homes that my home building company builds, and we’ll get customer review data on it. And then all of a sudden we input it in all the products and our sales go through the roof from running something I hate. So where do you get it? Well, my return question would be like, are you looking for it? Everywhere.
Meghan Escobar (25:13)
Amen.
Preston Brown (25:14)
what part of the world did God not make?
There’s miracles in everything. You know what’s better than a miracle, Meghan? It’s really cool. You know what’s better than a miracle?
Not needing one. You know what’s better than that? Getting one anyway. It’s called a blessing. And those are in every second of every day. But it’s the reticular activation system in the mind. if you go buy a Corvette, you’re gonna be a little disappointed a week later because you’re gonna be like, man, everybody has one.
Once you buy it, you’ll see it all over the place.
Meghan Escobar (25:42)
Everywhere, yeah.
Preston Brown (25:43)
Right? Well, if you’re letting the rest of the world come in at you, be negative.
Meghan Escobar (25:46)
You’re never gonna be happy anyway.
Preston Brown (25:48)
how are you even gonna stop, focus, pay attention? How are you gonna do being, becoming, believing, belonging, blessing? You’re not. You’re gonna miss it. You’re gonna miss millions and millions of miracles and blessings that are being thrown at you from whatever word doesn’t trigger you. God
Meghan Escobar (26:04)
Yeah.
Preston Brown (26:05)
is that they’re thrown at you. They’re like shoved down your throat, and people are so dense, we’re so hypnotized, we’re so lost.
We’ll be so consumed with money or so consumed with this but it’s always in a negative
Meghan Escobar (26:17)
Just
consumed in general, I think, is the problem with a lot of the world today. It’s just constant consumption. I don’t think enough people take time to just be silent, Like just sit still, be silent, stop scrolling, stop looking, stop needing.
Preston Brown (26:32)
Yeah, I’ll give you, I’m Christian, even though I never lord that over people. And I’m probably a terrible Christian. I’ve been told mostly by Christians that they don’t think I’m Christian. It’s really funny how that works. But, if you look at Christ on the 40-day fast that’s talked about the Bible, Satan goes up to him and he says, Why not turn this stone into bread? Can you imagine how hungry you would be? Do you know what the word Satan means? And I think it’s in ancient Aramaic.
Crazy thought. I have a production home building company and I have never been more exciting excited.
if you look at the news right now, home building is a terrible business. Nobody should get in it. I’m making more money than I’ve ever made. Yeah. we’re doing better than we’ve ever done, but we see the silver lining.
Meghan Escobar (27:31)
I was just gonna say, like, do you think that has a lot to do with your belief in yourself?
Preston Brown (27:35)
I think I do. and I think I’ve been able to automate my companies and get to a position of true success. Because while I’ll take what the world gives me and I’ll bring it in and I’ll use it to make trades and I’ll use it for my stock trades or my real estate acquisitions or when I’m buying gold or my economic decision making.
I separated from my emotional station. I think fear is the dominant emotion on earth. I think courage is the ability to conquer fear. And I have lots of fear. I’m a scared person. I’m a little daddy’s boy that lost his dad. And then I gurued a mentor, and then sued me. and I kind of went down that path. it.
I got lots of fear. I just overcome it because I think that something out there is bigger than me and wants me to succeed. And I truly genuinely believe that. And when I see all the problems or the bubbles in this bubble bath economy that we’re in, I look at the silver linings behind them and I focus more on that. And then it’s weird. When you focus on that, there’s all the tactics and strategies come really easy. The hustle and grind is no longer.
A need because when you’re passionate, you don’t, all these guys that are teaching you gotta hustle, you gotta grind, you gotta push. Now, I’ll give you a politically incorrect example. I love my wife. I have a smoking hot wife, thank God for bad taste in men or horrible glasses or whatever prescription she was on when she met me. I don’t know. but when she walks into the room and lingerie, there’s no part of it that’s like, man, I better figure out a way to hustle. I’m just passionate. I love the woman.
I’m so excited about her. And if I take that and I get excited about life, then it’s the same thing. You don’t have to worry about everything. Get passionate about everything. Hustle is a result, not a cause. You cannot work your way to success. You have to believe your way to success, which brings passion, which hustle follows. Think of what you’re passionate about. Have you ever had to like
Amp up your energy for that? No. I’ve never met anybody that has. If you’re passionate about baseball or football or whatever game, you don’t go there like, I hope I’m getting excited. You don’t do that. That’d be really stupid. But you do that at work. You do that when a client calls. You do that when all these other things. I get excited when I get bad feedback. I love it.
Meghan Escobar (29:48)
Well, that definitely is something that separates you from most of the folks out there, which is clearly, why you’ve been able to be and create so many successful businesses over and over again and start new ventures. I think that’s I think I’m losing my voice too. But I think it’s incredible. You have an amazing story how did we start the conversation? I’m like, man,
it was thirty seconds in and I’m like, Just love your energy, Preston. who sent you? Right? that was exactly what I needed.
Preston Brown (30:14)
I funny. I’m just bouncing around all over the place, wherever the man upstairs takes me. I’m just passionate and having fun and trying to do a little good in the world. I’ve been blessed and now I hope that the rest of the world gets it too.
Meghan Escobar (30:24)
something that I’ve learned along the way too is find your purpose in life. The goal is to find your purpose in life and then it’s to share it with the world.
Preston Brown (30:31)
Amen.
Meghan Escobar (30:32)
Right. Because then it’s never work. It’s never work. And then everything else follows. So you dropped some gens here.
