So the biggest unlock that we have seen in our business on the brokerage side, right? Because we didn’t really touch on the the portfolio that we own as well, but on the on the brokerage side, my real estate team PCI, beginning of this year, we started diving into Claude and like using AI, like really using AI. Before that, we were using it as Google, right? Where everyone’s like, yeah, use use ChatGPT okay, use it. Yeah. Everyone in the world is doing that.

So I hired a friend of mine from a mastermind group. I’m in. He’s was deep into it. He’s like, we could do this and do that. So I was like, okay, cool, let’s do it.

Q Edmonds
Hello, everyone. Welcome to the Real Estate Pros Podcast. I am your host, Q Edmonds, and I am excited to be here today. I have a fantastic guest who the way he’s positioned the market, he can hit you like a dual threat.

He’s an agent, but also he’s an investor. So that makes him very, very unique and very, very capable to help you in all kinds of capacities. And so name of the business is PCI. I’m excited about what he’s doing. I’m excited that we get to like look through his lens, glean through his experience. And so I want to introduce you all to Mr. Tal Tamir. Mr. Tal how you doing today, sir?

Tal Tamir
I’m doing great, Q. Thank you so much for the intro. appreciate the words and I’m pumped to be here.

Q Edmonds
Absolutely.

I gotta ask, man, how did I do with the name, man?

Tal Tamir
Good. Yeah, yeah. No, honestly, yeah. It’s when when I was when I was little, it’s like you can kinda get really upset about it, you don’t say it right. But now it’s like you call me whatever you want, I don’t care.

Q Edmonds
I feel you and believe it or not, I’ve been called some things in my life. So I love to put respect on people’s name. And so I try my best with it. And so I thank you for your time. You know, I feel like time is our most precious commodity. And so I am the type I like to dive right in. And so I would love for you to tell the people what’s your main focus these days. If you don’t mind, give us a little bit of an origin story, kind of how you got into the place that you’re in, and then tell us what what market you’re operating in, sir.

Tal Tamir
Yeah, of course. So high level, born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio, quick origin story. my grandfather was a big builder here and went to or graduated from Ohio State, bounced around for a few years after that, moved back to Cleveland in December of twenty seventeen. That’s when I got into real estate full time. When we were trying to figure out where we wanted to go. I’m not gonna get into the weeds there, but you know, I had the the whole rock bottom and the whole thing, trying to figure out my life and

And UPS, like the whole thing. I’m like, I want to go anywhere but Cleveland. I was like, tell them off, I don’t want to go to Cleveland anywhere, trying to find a job, couldn’t find a job. It was a real struggle, right? Yeah. And we locked down a job in Cleveland, moved back here in December, and and it was definitely the best thing that could have ever happened. Cleveland’s been very good to us. Yes. So operate in Cleveland, Ohio. my real estate team, like you said, PCI, Premier Cleveland Investing, where we help people buy and sell.

investment properties. the bread and butter is apartment buildings and portfolios. Primarily single family portfolios. Not a lot of people do that here. Yeah. So we’ve gotten very good at marketing and selling those for our clients. We have a a heavy focus on the sell side. So a lot of listing. So we kind of position our business and our model around that. Do a lot of dual agency as well because we built out a pretty big buyer’s list where we can kind of

play matchmaker, right, between seller and buyer. We know a buyer wants this, seller wants so we kinda like play that that middle ground, make sure everyone, you know, walks away happy. Yeah.

Q Edmonds
Love it, love it. So Tal Thank you, man. Thank you for telling us what you do, kind of how you got to where you are. and I know you gave us a quick backstory, but listen, I always I have this saying, Tal, I say destiny has no wasted moments, right? Meaning, like we’re borrowing from each each leg of the journey of our life. We’re borrowing from the success, we’re borrowing from the failures. So I would love to know, man, throughout your journey, what has it revealed to you about yourself? Has it revealed discipline? Has it made you more humble? Has it increased your tenacity? Like tell a little

Talk a little bit about the journey and what is available to you.

Tal Tamir
such a good question, Q. I mean, I feel like I’ve learned so much from and about myself. So for example, even the first job I got in Cleveland, right? I saw I have a degree from Ohio State, economics. I was never very I don’t even know how I graduated. That’s a story for another day. Very street smart, book smart was not really like my thing. which I’m sure a lot of our a lot of your listeners can relate to. Yep, yeah, I hear you. Yep.

So I finally got a job in Cleveland, right? It’s great example. And I’m working with it’s actually the owner’s husband of a property management company. So he was basically buying distressed houses, flipping them, putting renters in and selling them as like a turnkey product to to people out there. So I’d helped them do that. And I learned a lot about how not to operate, what not to do, how not to treat people, right? Not

calling anyone out or whatever, but like I it was a a really an eye opening situation. And I see that all the time. And I do it myself too, ’cause I’m always trying to better myself, whether that’s with my relationships, how I conduct myself, whether I’m reacting or responding to somebody. Cause like in our business, there’s so much BS that pops up and someone would say something crazy and they did this. She but like you have to really just come back to what you can control and that’s yourself. Yeah. Yeah.

I’m always trying to better myself, self development. I’m I’m a big believer in in Kabbalah, which is like a it’s not like a religion per se, but it’s kind of like a framework of of like belief, right? That goes thousands and thousands of years. So just trying to put that into my day to day life has been monumental just for the forward movement and momentum for me personally, for my family and for our businesses.

Q Edmonds
Yeah. No, sir. Thank you for answering that question. Thank you for the reflective answer. You know, I I asked that question because I I firmly believe at the center of each business is the business owner. We can s we can change strategies, we can move to different cities, but we are at the center. And so that mindset for me is such a big thing. Like that growth mindset, like you said, you know.

pouring into your your your mentality, pouring into your self-awareness. And I I so again, I appreciate the answer. I think it’s very valid for what we do here as business owners. So thank you, man. let me ask you, man, what’s what’s one operational thing you’ve put into place, let’s say the last two years, that has really kind of unlocked some success or really changed the way you do your business?

Tal Tamir

So I hired him as a consultant to come into our business and help us, you know, put some things into play. And excuse me. It was great. However, when we were done, I’m like, okay, well, what do I do? What can I change? How do I add something new? I really didn’t understand it still. But it opened

eyes to the possibilities and and what we can really do with it. So since then, the last three, four months, we’ve been, I mean, I like live in Claude five days a week, right? So I’m like creating new skills, new workflow new workflows, new listing proposals. We’re like building out a skill for our OM, right? Like that’s a big thing. We used to do the OMs in Canva. You know, there’s like companies that do it for you. That’s a very, you know, boilerplate, but like we’re creating this skill where literally

It links to our CRM. You say OM, run this, that, and the other, pulls everything, photos, this, the other, and spits out the OM for you. Like that’s something that we’re building on. That’s like a real time saver. The whole thing for me is buying back my time. Like I mentioned before we started. And the whole point of that is to spend time with my family, number one, right? My two year old daughter and an amazing wife, fourteen years. That’s the why, right? To spend time there.

Secondarily allowing me to continue to build our real estate portfolio. So to touch on that very briefly, we’ve been investing since like 2020. We in me, my wife, and my business partner in this other business. Yeah. And we’ve bought about four hundred units total. A lot of those we did syndications or joint ventures, where we were the operators, right? We were the GP, we ran it, got the debt, et cetera, et cetera. And we successfully exited

All of our large deals as of last week, we sold our 90 unit outside Columbus. So happy investors, happy everyone. Right now, my partner and I hold forty-five units about. no partners, it’s just the two of us. So that’s why we kind of got away from the bigger syndicated deals, which we would still do, which is take a higher equity piece. When we got started, we gave away so much equity because you’re getting started, you want to add value to the investors. Now it’s like, hey, here’s the track record. You want in or you want out, right? So you want that one.

They’re gonna want it ’cause we we have done well by them. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Q Edmonds
Man, sir. Thank you, man. Thank you again just for that reflective answer. Tal, I would love to know.

What’s well before I say that, because I I love the fact how you talked about your family, talked about how you, you know, getting your time back, right? Knowing what powers you, you know, one of my mentors saying when you know who you are, you know what to do. And so again, I just I love the way you’re laying things out because I think it’s so important when when you’re doing business, why you know you’re doing business. And so I appreciate that. I just had to say that to you, man. but I would love to know what’s next for you. What’s the next real goal? What are you looking to solve or scale next?

Tal Tamir
So right now it’s twofold. So I’m gonna keep going back to Claude, right? Continue to build out our our Claude systems and automations and everything. I have a rock star executive assistant slash operations person that is continuing to grow with us as well. So really dial in Claude. I think by the end of this year we’ll be pretty well on our way of where I wanna be on that front. we’ll continue to build and do. and then

continue to buy real estate with my business partner. so like I said we have 45 units right now. The next goal is 250 units. Yeah. The goal for that was the end of this year. We’ll see how it goes. In order to do that, we definitely need to buy a couple big portfolios. We were close on one recently the guy ended up selling it to another guy that anyways, that’s the goal, right? To build up our our current portfolio, optimize the real estate business and spend time

Q Edmonds
Yes, sir. Yeah, I love it, man. relationships. I I I would love to get your perspective on relationships. You got your partner. Y’all done things together. So what’s your philosophy on building healthy business relationships? you and your partner, how do y’all split up responsibilities? How do y’all keep it, you know, at a level that’s amicable, not bumping in each other’s way? And what are some of the relationships that still continue to help you within business? So talk to me a little bit about relationships, though.

Tal Tamir
Yeah, so relationships is everything, especially in a time of AI and Claude and ChatGPT, everything is becoming very

Automated, not person like there’s not a lot of people are doing this anymore. Right. Like that that face to face. So the relationships I think is gonna be moving forward more important than it’s ever been. Yeah. For my personal business relationships, like my partner Michael. it’s I feel very blessed. Let me start there, because I know I’ve know many friends, family, whatever that have not had good business relationships. Yeah. And ugly and bad and and

stealing money and loss of the whole thing. so luckily I think we universe or whatever you believe in put us together many years ago from a very fateful story. So we’ve definitely had, you know, things that we’ve worked through and struggles and something we’ve learned over time and I’ve learned from my coach as well is put everything on paper. Yeah. Right. So you go into a new deal, hey

Tal’s gonna get X, Michael’s gonna get Y. As far as like day-to-day things, we’re both very good at just tackling it head on. So we’re almost like a yin to the yang. That’s why we’re very effective. At times I’m like very bullish, right? Let’s go, go, go, go, go. And he’s okay, let’s like look at this again. Let’s put eyes on it. So like we kind of balance each other out in that sense. Yeah. but I don’t find us getting in each other’s way. And if we do, we talk about it, right? It’s all about that.

communication. If you don’t have that, yeah, you’ll build the animosity and the resentment and then you’ll start button heads and it’ll be a big explosion and then before you know it, you have to dissolve the business. Right. I see on the brokerage side, I see it all the time. Bad partnership. They need to sell everything. Mm-hmm. Don’t want to be in that position ever. Yeah.

Q Edmonds
No man, thank you, man. I appreciate again your answer because you’re absolutely right. I’ve experienced it. I have friends who experience it. You got friends and then it’s just it goes really bad. not all the time, real but really soon, because sometimes you don’t see people for who they are sometimes until the mask starts to come off. But again

Tal Tamir
And Q

also, like I wanna say I’m an open book, right? So if you you ask me whatever and I’ll

Q Edmonds
Yeah,

I appreciate that. I appreciate your answers up to now, man. I I I appreciate it. what I do want to know, man, PCI. Sometimes there is a meaning behind the name. And so I would love to know, man, PCI. Is there a meaning behind the name? Talk to me a little bit more about the business and the name itself.

Tal Tamir
Besides a really long email address, no, not just it’s on our list of things to do to like get CLE PCI. I’m like I you know, I’m on the phone all day. Premier, Cleveland, and that’s that how. So like it’s it’s on the it’s on the list of things to do. It’s funny, kind of spawn from almost like an SEO slash.

just straight to the point of who we are and what we wanted to do, such who we wanted to be, and which was Premier’s or Cleveland’s premier real estate investing team. Yeah. Right. So that’s like Premier Cleveland Investing and then PCI is such a good ring to it. I think my wife probably thought of it because she’s very again, she’s the creative and and that’s her forte. I stay in my lane, you know, she’s she’s hers and yeah I think that’s

And it’s been great to us. You know, I feel very blessed to have this business and you know, we’ve been growing we grew a lot since we started. Yeah. And we are now one of the premier kind of niche multifamily and portfolio. I don’t want to say I don’t like to say broker’s ’cause I’m not a broker, but real estate teams in in northeast Ohio. So in such a short amount of time it’s you know, I feel blessed to to be in that position. Yeah.

Q Edmonds
Love it, man. Listen, I I’ve asked you some questions. Is there anything that I have not brought up that you would like to talk about? is there any other like words of inspiration, education? Like maybe you came in with something on your mind that you wanted to make sure you land and stuck. I kind of just want to open up the floor just in case if you had a message like that.

No pressure, Tal.

Tal Tamir
Yeah. I would say

The in in a time of AI and social media and everything, and I’m guilty of this too. So many people compare their chapter two to the other guy’s chapter five. And it’s not an age thing, right? Like I could sing next to another 35-year-old in California and he’s got 5,000 units and this, that, and the other. But it’s so easy to say, well, he did this and

How am I gonna do and you just like get in your head it’s a it’s like a loop. Yeah, right. So to not compare your chapter two to his chapter five, because nobody knows he could have been investing since he was fifteen, right? Like people think see all this overnight success and everything. I don’t believe it, right? I think everyone puts in the time and effort, no matter how you do, maybe it’s easier for some people, not not for others. But that’s the the the way it goes. So I would say to put your head down

Work, be smart, be kind. Cause I I think what you said, Q in the beginning, this like every business is re resul revolves around the business owner. Yes, sir. Right. So like if you have good intentions, if you have a good heart, if you’re good to people, you’ll build a good reputation. People like that’s how we built our businesses. Referrals, word of mouth, repeat clients because people saw who they were doing business with. Yeah. And they were happy with that. Right. And and I’m not perfect.

I dropped the ball and I’ve made mistakes and and I’ve learned from it. Yeah. So as long as you keep moving forward, that’s all that matters. You know, don’t get in your head and just keep keep the keep moving up the hill, you know. Yes, sir.

Q Edmonds
Yes, sir. Tal, man, I appreciate you, sir. I appreciate this conversation. If someone wanted to reach out to you, connect with you, collaborate with you, learn more about what you’re doing, how can they get in contact with you, sir?

Tal Tamir
Two ways. Email Tal [email protected] just like it sounds. Yeah. Second, I’m on Instagram too, so it’s @talntamir and I think those are the two best places. I don’t want to give you my phone number, I get enough calls how it is. But no, shoot me an email or or send me a DM on Instagram, I’d be more than happy to connect. Yes, sir.

Q Edmonds
Well, listen, man, let me say three things to you sincerely. And I said one at the top of the show. Thank you for your time. I do think time is our most precious commodity, and you have been crystal clear. That’s something that you’re trying to buy back. So I thank you. I value you for giving us your time. I appreciate it. Secondly, man, thank you for your story. Thank you for the gift of your vulnerability, the gift of your authenticity. I believe our stories plants little seeds. And those seeds, we don’t know when they’re gonna take root, but they can take root at any given time.

So man, I want to thank you for planting seeds. And lastly, man, thank you for your mindset. Thank you for thank you for the way you think and bringing that mindset to this platform. I greatly appreciate you coming on today, man.

Tal Tamir
No, Q, I appreciate you, bro. This was an absolute pleasure. And you know, your audience is lucky to have someone like you. Great interview. And you’re just very down to earth. I I like miss these kinds of conversations because I’m just in front of the computer all day now, right? Yes, phone calls, but like I miss the face to face. So this is a reminder for me to get back to doing more of this. So thank you, Q. I really appreciate it.

Q Edmonds
Man, I truly, truly, truly appreciate those words. Thank you, man. so listen, y’all heard Mr. Tal. His information is in the show notes. No, he didn’t give y’all his phone number, but you still can find him, right? Information is in the show notes. Please get in contact with him. But definitely make sure you are subscribed here because I promise you, we’re going to continue to bring up amazing people just like Mr. Tal So, sir, I say thank you again.
